Scampini,G.W.Holston. Noes Trustees None. 'Absent Trustees None. On motion of Trustee Scampini seconded by Trustee Hardy bids were ordered opened on the proposed automatic Fire Alarm aystem. But one bid was submitted on this proposition, that of the Gamewell Fire Alarm Telegraph Company of S~n Francisco. The bid was ~ccompsnied by a certified check'of 10% o~ the amount of the bid. and they agreed to inst~ll the system according to plans and specific~tions as authorized by the Board of Trustees for the sum of $(9947. Trustee Eschelbach introduced the following resolution to award the contract to the above bidder . Whereas the Board of Trustee~ of the City of South San Francisco did. in open. session, on th · lOth. day of May , i920, publicly open, examine and declare all pro~osal~ or bids fpr doing the following work in said city, to-wit: l~urnishing all labor and material necessary for the constrution and completion of an automatic perfect non-interfering fire-alarm signaling system in the City of South San FranciscO. All material and all ~orkabove mentioned must be in strict compli- snce with the specifications adopted by the said Bo~rd of Trustees of the City of South South Francisco on the 22 day o~ April, 1920, and now on file in the offic of the City Clerk,to which spwcificetions re~erence is hereby made . Resolved that the Board of Trustees hereby rejects all said proposals or bid~ except that next hereinafter mentioned,and hereby awards t~w contract for Coing said work to the lowest responsible bidder, to-wit: The Gamewell Fire Alarm Telegraph Company, a New York Corporation, at the price named in its bid, to-wit: $9947. The President of the Board of Trustees and the City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed in the name of the City of South San Francisco and under its corporate seal to enter into an agreement with said, The Gamewell Fire Alarm Telegraph Company, for doing said work. Absent, Trustees Nome. 342 The fire alarm bomes at the time that the said system is inet ailed for ONE Hundred Twenty- five dollars $125.00 ,each,install them upon the polls for ($15.00 each,and place the ~ecessary line wire at the rate of ($100.00 per (1000 feet of double line circutt~ Accordingly the following'resolution was introduced by Trustee Hardy: Resolved by the Board of Triistees of the City of South San Francisco that the proposal of the Gamewell Fire Alarm Telegraph Company to construct and install one(l) ten (10) inch electro-mechinical Turtle Gong in the Water Works planton'Chestnut Avenue nearCommercial Aue.,to be connected with and be a part of the Fire Alarm ~ignalling systemss set forth in the specifications adopted by said Board of Trustees of the City of ~outh Fan Francisco on the 22nd. of April, 1920, be and same~hereby is accepted. Trusx Fire Chief presented the following ~ggestions which were acted upon s,s follows : Clean all weeds and debris two feet from fire hydrants, referred to stree~ committee,All hydrants to be painted v~ite with red tops . R~ferred~ to street committee. Warning signs and the enforcement of the law regarding parking of autos ,etc. No action, Two shut off Nozzles ,,E~powered to order one. Replacing cast iron valves on fire truck with Tungston, valves. One on hand . Instructed to procure the others. Regrinding of valves, on fire truck, Instructed to have the work done, Moved by Trustee Hardy seconded by Trustee Scampini the Board adjourn to meet again ~ondsy May the 17th. at 3!0 Linden Ave. in regular session.at 8 P.M.
