Regmlar meetixg of the Board of Trustoos of the City of South San Framclsco, hold Monday, Aug. the 2xd., 1920. at ~310 Linden Ave. The meeting was called to order at 8 o'cloek, P.M., by Trustee Holston, President of the Board. Roll Call Roi1 cell found the following Trustees present,to-wit;- A.J.Eschelbaeh, L.G.Hardy Jr., ~H. Scampini, G.W.Holston. Absent, Trustee , F.A.Cunningham. The minutes of the previous meeting~ere read and upon motion of Trustee Eschelbach . seconded by Trustee Sosmpini, and regularly carried were approved as rea~. A communication was received from the Pacific Coast Steel Co.eoncerning the extension of the present road past their place of business to the Butler roa~. The oommunieation was accepted snd the Clerk instructed to reply stating that the BOard of Trustees had no Jurisdic- tion in the matter, but were willing to co-operate in any way possible with the Steel Ce.and the Land and Improvement Co. toward securing the desired extension. A reply was received from the United Railroads,to our letter asking the use of their poles for the Fire Alarm System,stating that they would take the matter up with our city attor~ at his convenienle. Accepte~ and filed. Replies were also received from the P.G.& E. anA~the Pas.Telephone & Telegraph Cempaniel stating it was perfectly agreeable to them to let the city have the use of their poles to conta, for the Fire Alarm system, providing the city would sign the necessary indemnity agreements. Accepted and filed. Orum R.Runyon, of Hollywood Cal, wrot · in reply to City attorney Collberd eoncernizg tye bondholders of street assessment wor~ at Los Ceritos, statingthat he presented the bonds and coupons in question to the First National Bank there for collection, but payment was refuse~ The clerk was instructed to write Mx Runyon and state that our city attorney was on vacation, and would be shown the letter on his return. Accepted and filed. ~treet cleaner John M. Costa wrote the Board asking for a rais eof salary, owing to the high cost of hay, labor ets. Taken under advisememt. The South San Francisco Chamber o~ Commerce wrote asking the Board if it were possible to' secure space in the New City Hall suitable to the Chamber's occupancy. The Board instrueted t~ city clerk to communicate with the Chamber asking them to appoiat a committee and the Board would meet with them and visit the city hall and look over the situation. A communication was received from Larse~,Sampson Co. asking for an extension of &O days in which to complete their contract build~ng the city hall. The clerk was instructed to notify them to secure the consent of their bondsmen and the Board would be agreeable to the extension. The street committee reported the pavement breaking in front of the ~olden Eagle Hotel. The clerk was instructed to write t~ Supervisor Tom Hickey asking him to have the same attended to as it is county highway. The street committee was instructed to a~certain the cost of putting the drinking fountain in order. John Skrine, representing the Cal Iron Yards , made a bid of $150. for the old fire house on Miller Ave. The bid was accepted and the clerk instructed to write the P.~.& E. the UNITED RAILROADS and thePac.Telephone & Telegraph Co's asking them the pr&velige of passing their wires in moving the fire house. The following resolution was introduced by Trustee Hardy;- Resolved by the Board of Trustees ~f the City of South San Francisco , that the sum of nine thousandand thirty dollars,($9030) be paid Larsen-S~mpson Co.on their ,ontract for the cons~ ruction of the city hall, pursuant to certificate ~ dated July the 30th 1920, of Werner&Cof£ey, architects. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution ~as regularly introduced and adopted by the ~oard of Trustees of the city of South San Francisco this second day of August, 1920, by the following vote;- Ayes, Trustees, A.J.Eschelbach, L..G.H~rdy Jr., H.~csmpini.G.W.Holston. Noes, Trustees. None. Absent , Trustees F.A Cunningham. Attest, Daniel McSweeney City Clerk , and ex-officio cl~rk of ' Board of Trustees The followir~reso~ution was introduced by Trustee Scampini,- Resolvedby the ~oard of Trustees of the City of South San ~'ra ncisco, that the diagram submitted by tbs..city engineer of seid city, on the 2nd of August, 1920, of the property affected benefited by graamng, p~ving and the construction of culverts , in Swift Ave. in said city of South San Francisco, as described in reso~Mtion of intention ~39, passed and adopted by the Boaz Trustees of the City of South San Francisco, on the 6th d~y of October 1519, and to be assessed t the expenses of said work, be, and the same is hereby approved by said Board of Trustees,and the Clerk of said City' of South San Francisco, is hereby directed to certify to the fact of such zpproval,and he is also directed to deliver said diagram so approved to the Superintendent of streets of said city.
