The meeting was celled to order at eight O'clock r.m. by Trustee ~.~.~olston, ~resident of the ~oard. gOL~ uALL. Holl call found the following Trustees present, to-wit:- ~'.A.uunningham, A.J.~schelb~ch, L.G.Hardy Jr.,and G.W.Holston. Absent, Trustees, n.~campiRi. The minutes of the two previous meetings were read end upon of Trustee ~schelbach seconded Trustee uunninghsm and regularly carried were approved. A communication was received from the ~'ontan~ ~'ood Products oo, acknowledging the receipt o city's letter concerning the location, etc., of the sanitary storm-watersewer,stating that it is understood that the oity shzll be responsible for damages to the sewer uo to a strain of 600 lbs~ t the square foot,in case the comosny should build upon the sewer. The clerk was instructed to reply to the communication and ~tste that the oity does not assume the responsibility for ~ny damage that might result from any strain placed.upon the sewer. in application for a soft drink license was received from leon d.~dwards, of the ~e Long no Nr. ~dwards. being present at.the meeting, stated he did~c~re to handle soft drinks if allowed the privilege of running a restau, ant. He was instructed by the 8card .that he could handle tea and coff Without a soft drink license, which Was agreeable to him. An application for a soft drink and e poolroom license was received from ~. end H. oarlson, who are about to toke over the business of Manuel Monize, on ~rand Avenue.~oved by ~rustee ~schelba seconded by Trustee ~unningham that the licenses be granted, on roll ca~l the motion was carried by the.following vote:- Ayes, Trustees, ~'.A.ounningham,~.J.~schelbsch,L.~.Hardy Jr., G.W.nolston. ~oes, Trustees, ~one. Absent, Trustees, H.~campini. A communication was received from w.~'.~ildert, Dublic accountant.also e report of his audit the ~ity's books. He recommended that a ~en-year record book for street work be installed on ~cco of the increasing number of street improvement series, and a book showing in succession the yearly payments due on the bonded property. Accepted and filed. The re~orts of the ~ity ~ecorder, ~ity ~&rshal, ~ity mlectrical Inspector, ~'ire ohief end ~ity ~lerk were also received. ~he report of the ~ity ~ecorder showed collections of ,102.00 for the month of ~e~tember. ~he ~ity ulerks office showed the following balances in the various funds:- General fund,~2901.37,~ibrery fund, ,~,2,58, ~imking fund for sewere,,lO6.20,~'actory ~istrict sewer fund,~5790.~, "1919 ~onds", ,2670.52. ~treet ~onds, caries "A" ~16.10,~er. "~",~15.70. ~eries "~",~25.3~, caries "~",~AS.66.~eries "~", ¥16 . 86 , Series "~'" owes ~en. ~'und ~l?~.lZ, ~eries ' $~gS.~2. ~otal belznce in all funds,$12,4??.2S. The report of auditor ~ildert on the ~reasurer's and ulerk~s account with the uity showed all ~x uollections and other monies collected properly accounted for in cash and advertised delinquent ~ids for the construction of e storm-watersewer across the right of way of the oouthern ~acif nailroed uom~an2 st ualifornia Avenue,which were laid over at the last meeting of the ~oard, were n taken up for further consideration.un examination it wes found that the firm of ~ickey and aarmon w~ the lowest responsible bidder. Accordingly ~rustee a~rdy introduced %he following resolution of award;- AWARD. Whereas the 'Board of Trustees of the oity o~ ~outh San Francisco did,in open sessio] on the 26th day of ~eptember.1921,publicly ooen, ex~mine and declare all sealed proposals or bids doing the following work in ssid ~ity, to-wit: The construction of ~ 'A~enty-four 12A) inch by ~hirty-six lE6) inch combined sanitary and sro: water sewer across the right of way of the ~outhern Pacific Hailroad 0ompany at ~alifornia Avenue connect the end of the existing sewer st the easterly end of ~alifornia Avenue with the sewer in ~ndustrial way. ~ll material and all work must be in strict compliance with the requirements of the plans specifications adonted by said ~oerd of Trustees foe doing said work on the eight day of ~eptember 1921, and now on fi~e in the office of the oity ~lerk. The successful bidder shell,within ten Il0) days after the award,enter into a contract with ~ity of South San ~'rsncisco for the fai~hful ~erformance of th~ work to be done under said award. Hesolved that said ~o~rd of Trustees hereby rejects ell said proposals or bids except that next hereinafter mentioned, and hereby awards the contract for doing said work and improvement to t~ lowest responsible bidder, to-wit~-nickey and harmon,item conduit,$12.45Per liheal foot of conduit;- item 2,~'or constructing Type "B" reinforced concrete con~ ~15.60 per lineal foot of conduit:- item ~, ~'or excavating for all class "C" concrete, SZ.00 per cut yard:- item 4, ~.or all class "C" concrete, ~17.00 per cubic yard of comcrete, said prices being the 'prices named in their bid. The President of the ~oard of Trustees and the city clerk are hereby authorized and directe~ name of the Oity of South ~en ~'r~ncisco and under its corporate seal to enter into an agreement witi said Hickey and Harmon for doing said work.
