The following is a copy of said call;- The undersigned, members of the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco,hereby call a special meeting of said Board of Trustees to be held in the City Hall of said City on Saturday, the £~th day of February,19~Z,at ~he hour of 10:00 o'clock a.m., for the purpose of requesting the resignation of E.E.Cunningham, as City.Recorder, and appointing a Recorder of the aforesaid City of South San Francisco; and we hereby waive a~l o~her notice o£ said meeting. J.Eschelbach J.W.Pitt H.G.Sc~m~ini The meeting was called to order at 10:00 o'clock a.m by Trustee G.W.Holston, President of the Board. ~ ROLL CALL Roll c~.ll found all Trustees present, to-wit;- Trustees, F.A.Cunningham,A.J.Eschelbach,J.W.Pitt,H.Scampini, G.~.Holston. The reading of the.ninutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with. ~ City ~ecorder E.E.Cunningham was present at ~he meeting. On question by the President of the Board concerning the fines imposed by the Recorder on persons arrested under the Wright Act for having liquor in their possession, Nr. C~nningham declared his belief that the fines he impos~d were sufficient under the circumstances. The Board of Trustees were of the opinion that the minimum fine ~for the offense in question should be T~ree Hundred Do~, and so informed ~r. Cunningham. Er. Cunningham declared he would refuse t~0~'uch a fine and gave as his reason that the cases should be treated as misdemeanors ~nd should be d~alt with as all other misdemeanor cases, at the discretion of the Recorder. He was then requested to resign, which he refused to do. Thereupon Trustee Eschelbach moved that the office of City Recorder be declared vacant. The motion was seconded by Trustee Scampini and regularly carried. Trustee Cunningham then moved that Joseph G.Walker be appointed to fill the position of Oity Recorder. The motion ~as seconded by Trustee Eschelbach and regularly carried Joseph G.Walker ~hen ~ook the o~h of office of City Recorder of the 0ity of South San Francisco. The business for which the meeting was called being completed Trustee Pitt moved to adjourn until the ne~t regular meeting. The motion was seconde~ by Trustee Scsmpini and regularly carried.
