The meeting was called to order by-Trustee G.W.Holston, President of the Board.at ?;30'o"clock
Roll Call.
Roll call found ~ the fotlowing Trustees present, to-wit;
Trustees A..J.Eschelbaoh.. J.W.Pitt, H.Scampini and G.W.Holston.
Absent, Trustee ~.A.Cunningham.
Trustee Cunningham a~peared after roll call..
The minutes of the previous me,ting were read and upon motion of Trustee Pitt seconded by Trustee
Scampini and regularly carried were approved as read.
A petition was received from the Italian Bbard of Relief ~sking ~ermission to hold a dance and-
carn£val Saturday evening April 21st and Sunday. April 22. Granted,
A communication was received from PeteM.Petroff and Pete E.Deamatroff asking permission to store
two five hundred gallon tanks of gasoline in the premises at the S.W. corner of Linden Avenue Extension
and San Bruno Road. Business of this 'kind being restricted in this neighborhood the Board decided to
amend the Ordinance covering the territory to admit of such business, and so advised the $ity Attorney.
.~Action ,on the petition was .postponed until the 0~dinance can be amended.
A communication was received from Carrie'E, Winterhalter asking the Board to set aside ten per
cent of the colleAtions from misdemeanor cases to be placed in a welfare fund for Public Health Service.
The Borad was advised hy the City Attorney that this procedure would be unconstitutional, and the
communication was ordered filed.
Fire Chief Truax appeared before t'he Board and asked that the Board go on record as favoring
statenappropriation for f£re boat service, and that the Board send letters of endorsement of AsSembly
Bill ~68 to Senator M.B.Jo.hnso~ and Assemblyman Frank. L.EC'ksward. The Clerk was instructed to prepare
and forward the endorsement~ as suggested.
Applications for soft grink licenses accompanied by bonds were received from Viette& Thatcher,
J.Eikere~kotter, Pardini & Ferrari, Enrico Ghila~tdi, and Luigi Bartoli. The licenses were gramted
by the following vote;-

hereafter described should, be done; and
Whereas, in the opinion of the Board of ~rustees of the City of South San Francisc¢
said contemnlated work and improvement is, and-is hereby declared to be of more than local or ordinary
plxblic benefit;
Now, therefore, resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San FranciS,
that it.is the intention of said Board to order the following work and improvement to be done in
said city, to-wit:
That Swift Avenue from the easterly boundary line of the right of way of the
Southern Pacific Railroad Company to a line drawn at right angles to the south boundary line of Swift
Avenue at a point in said south boundary line ~25 feet ea~ter!y from the angle ooint in the southerly
line of Swift AFenue i~media~ely easterly from the southerly termination of Swift Avenue, on the
southerly side thereof, but excepting such portions of said avenue as are required by law to be kept
in repair by any person or company having railroad tracks thereon, be improved by grading and the
construction of a decomPoSed granite sidewalk, the construc~ion of wooden bridges, and a corrugated
iron culvert and a vitrified salt-glazed ironstone pipe sewer.
Ail work herein provided for shall ~e done to official grade and in accordance
with the.special plans and specifications for said work, which plans and specifications are entitled
"Plans an& specifications for the construction of street improvement wore on the southerly side of
Swift Avenue in the City of ~'buth San Francisco, County of San Marco, State of California. which avenu~
iS fully shown upon .the plans hereto attached, which plans are made a part hereof", which plans and
amend the Ordinance covering the territory to admit of such business, and so advised the $ity AttOrney.

in said district, notices of the pa ssage of this resolution of intention, in the manner and form requi~
by the "ImprOvement Act Of 1911" -nd the amendments thereto.

p.m.,in the Chamber of said Board o f Trsstees of the City of South San Francisco,. any and all persons
having any objection to the prooosed work 'and impr'ovement may appear he'fore said Board of Trustees and
show cause why said proposed improvement should not be carried out in accordance with this resolution.
Except as hereinbefore provided, all of the herein prooosed work shall be done in pursuance ~
an~act of the I~gislature of the State of California, designated as the "Improvement Act of 1911",appro~
April 7th, 1911, and the amendments thereto.
