The Board was called to order at ?;30 o'clock p.m. by Trustee G.W.Holstom, ?resident of the Board, ROLL CALL. Roll call fo=md the followimg Trustees presemt, to-wit;- Trustees, F.A.Cummimgham, A.J.Eschelbach, H.Scampimi amd G,W.Holstom, Absent, Trustee J.W.Pitt. Trustee Pitt appeared after roll call. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and upon motion of Trustee Cunningham ~'econded by Trustee Eschelbach and regularly carried were approved aS read. , A communication was received from the South San Francisco Land & Improvement Company. in response to the city's letter concerning their intentionsrelative to a proposed roadway acroms Willow Swamp to:the Los Ceritos Tract. The letter stated the company was in consultation with the United Railroads, the Southern Pacific Company and the Spring Valley Water Company with a view to confining the flood water~ of Colma and Baden Creeks into a channel. The company adeised that they expected to begin work on the project this summer, and that the city would be at much less expense if the flood waters were first controlled. The city clerk was instructed to reply stat*~ that the city is most anxious to proceed with the undertaking and inviting the general manager, to accompany a committee of the Board of Trustees with the committee of the Chamber of Commerce alreadyappointed. '~ to look over the proposed roadway. Andrew Hynding appeared before the Board and spoke in favor and introduced the resolution of Willis K,Polk. advocating the beautification of the San Franoisco Peninsula. On motion of Trustee Cunningham seconded by Trustee ESchelbach~and regularly carried the resOlution was~-ad~pted, and the Clerk instructed to foeward a copy to the Board of Supervisors of San Francisco and one to the Board of Supervisors og San Marco County. All of the herein proposed work of abating said nuisance shall be done in pursuance an act of the ~egislature of the State of California entitled "A~ act authorizing municipalities to declare noxious or dangerous weeds growing upon the streets or sidewalks, or upon private property within municipalities, ~o be a public nuisance, creating a lien upon the property fronting upon such streets or sidewalks or upon which such nuisance exists for the cost og abating the same",approved May 26,1915.
