The Board of Trustees of the City of Sout~ San Francisco met in regular session in the City Ha on May 21st,1923, at ?:30 o'clock p.m. There were present the following trustees: F.A.C~,~ningham, A.J.Eschelbach. J.W.Pitt and H.Scamp Trustee G.W.Holston was absent. Upon motion made,by Trustee Eschelbach, seconded by Trustee Pitt, and regularly carried, Trustee F.A.Cunninghamwas chosen to act as President Pro tem., because of the absence of Trustee ~G.W.Holston. President of said Board of Trustees. Trustee F.A.Cunningham, aSLSUCh President pro tem., called the meeting to order. The minutes of the previous meeting were read. and, upon, motion of Trustee'Esehelbach, seconded by Trustee Scampini and regularly carried, were approved~as read. An application for a soft drink license, accompanied by responsible sureties, was received frei Walter 0ttenfield, Quality Bakery and Restaurant, and granted by the following vote;- Ayes, Trustees, F.A,Cunningham, A.J.Eschelbach, J.W.Pitt, H.Scampini~ Noes, Trustees, None. Absent, Trustees, G.W.Holston. A communication was received from Enrico Ghilardi, asking permission to construct a new roof and straighten the wa~ls of his garage on lot IA. block lA0, Map of South San ~'rancisco. The Board decided to inspect the premises personally, A communication was received from the Merchants Association of the City of Coronado, stating that great preparations were being made to receive the members of the League of California m~icipalities in that city during the convention week, and asking for the names of this city's delega' Acting President Cn~uingham stated that the city would send the usual number of representatives. The banking fir~ of Kahn, Feder & Brandt. prospective purchasers of the Santa Clara Valley Lan~ Company's holdings at Los Ceritos Tract. made inquiry as to a possible reduction in the tax and street assessment bill against the property by the city in case.of sale. Acting President Cunningham stated ~hat if such reduction could be legally made the Board would be inclined to grant,it. The clerkwas instructed to reply to this effect. A reoly was received from J.F.Adams, Manager of the Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Company at San Mateo, regarding the removal of t~e company's wooden poles on Grand Avenue. Mr Adams stated that he had turned the matter over to the Wire Chief for promot action. Eesidents of Peck's Lots appeared the Board and ~sked for information concerning the extension of sidewalks on the San Bruno Road. The City Attorney was instructed~Zo secure the necessary easement~ after which proceedings would follow. ~ Reference being made to the broken Electrolier at Grand Avenue and Linden Avenue, in fromt of the bank, the clerk was instructed to write to the contractors, H.C.Reid & Co~,~nd order a new Electrolier in place of the broken one. RESOLUTION. The f~llowing resolution was nent introduced by Trustee Scampini;- Resolved by ~e~oard of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco that that certain deed, · dated the 30th day of Ap?il, 1923, and executed by South San Frencisco Land and lmp=ovement Company, a Corporation organized and eX~sting under the laws of the'State of California, to City of South San Francisco. for the purpose of ~'onveying to said City of South San Francisco a right of way for the Construction of a highway over and upon that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being ,in the City of South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of CaliTornia, and p&rticular!y described as follows, to-wit: Beginning at a point on the ~ortherly line of Swift Avenue in the City of South San ~rancisco State of ~alifornia, which point is distant North 89 degrees 52 minutes 30 seconds East 332.5? feet and North 00 ~egrees ? minutes ~0 seconds West 50 feet from the intersection of the center line of Grand Avenue with the center line of Swift Avenue in said City, said point also being a corner of the Pacific Coast Steel Company's 32.688 acre tract; running thence along said 32.688 acre tract North 00 degrees ? minutes 30 seconds West 42.01 feet; thence along the easterly line of Industrial Way produced souther South 3?'degrees ~2 minutes ~0 seconds West 53.08 feet; thence North 89 degrees 52 minutes 30 seconds East 32.44~,feet to the point of beginning, containing 0.0156 Acres, be, and th~ same hereby is accepted. AN ORDER PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF STREET IMPROVE~_~ENT BONDS, PRESCRIBING TME DENOMINATION OF SUCH BONDS AND THE INTEREST COUPONS ATTACHED. NO 46. The following order was introduced by Trustee Eschelbach;- Whereas the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco on the 29thday of May, 1922, passed its Resolution of Intention $46 for the work of improving Randolph Avenue from a line drawn from the 'point of the intersection of the northerly line of lot numbered one (1) with the northeasterl line of said lot in block lettered "T", as shown upon that certain map entitled "Map of Peck's Subd vision No.1, South San Francisco, San Mateo County, Cal., which map was filed in the office of the County Recbrder of the County of San Mateo, California,~une 24,1907, in Book 5 of Original Maps at page ll, acrosz~ Randolph Avenue at right angles with the center line thereof, to the line separating lots numbered f~ve ~ and six (61 in block lettered "A", produced southerly across Randolph Avenue; Chapman Avenue fro~ the southerlyline of Randolph Avenue to the northwesterly line of San Bruno Road; Green Avenue from the northerly line of Chapman Avenue to the southerly line of Randolph Avenue; and Gardiner Avenue from the southeasterly line of Braden Avenue to the northwesterly line of San Bruno Road, under and pursuant to the provisions of the "Improvement Act of 1511 1911".and the amendments thereto, and to t~ r~olntt~_ nottoes_ an& other ~roceadin~s of said Board of Trustees adonted and taken, re~erence t¢ Absent, Trustees,-G.W.Holston. Section 2. Said bOnds shall be issued in annual series and the unpaid assessments as shown upon said list filed by the Superintendent of streets and determined by said Board of Trustees,togethe with the interest thereon,shall remain and constitute a trust fund for the redemption and payment of said bon~s and of the interest which may be due thereon, which unpaid assessments shall be payable in annual series corresponding in number to the number of series of the bonds issued, and an even annu&l proportion of each assessment shall be payable in each year preceding the date of maturity of each ox the several series of bonds issued, and such proportion of each assessment coming due in any year toge with the annual interest thereon, shall in turn be payable in installments the same as the general municipal ta::es of said City of South San Francisco on real property are payable and shall become deli~ at the same times and in the same proportionate amounts and bear the same proportionate Penalties for delinguency, Said bonds shall be signed by the Treasurer of the City of South San FranciSco and counte~ signed by the Clerk who shall affix thereto the official seal of said City; the interest coupons affix, thereto shall be signed by the Treasurer or bear his engraved or tithographed signature; Said bonds sh~ be substantially in the form set forth in said Improvement Bond Act as amended in 1921.
