The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco held Monday evening, October ]5th,1923, in the City Hall. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 o'clock P.m. by Trustee G.W.Holston, President of the Board. ROLL CALL. Roll cal found al_! Tr~stees present, to-wit,- TruStees. The minutes.of the previous~meeting were..read,a~d upon ~oti0n~by Trustee ESche!bach seconded by Trustee Gunnin~ham,and .regu!ar!y carried were approved as read. A communication was r~:eiv,~d from the Southern Pacific Company acknow!edffing receipt of the City's ~etter of reeuest for rights of way at 0ranffe Avenue,and at Third Street, Los 5eritos. stating th8 r~equest WoUld be given proper consideration. Communication ordered filed. in a letter of thanks the San Francisco Chroni!e acknowledged the receipt of ~25 from the City of South San Francisco for advertising space in the forthcoming Progressive California Number, which will be issued the beMinning of the year. Communiaation ordered filed. Regina Elena Circle of the Druids of South Fan Francisco petitioned the Board for a permit to hold a dance in Fraternal Hall Saturday evening-. October 27th, next. Permit granted. An application for a permit to hold a free dance and'festival in Fraternal Hall, S~day, November 18thn next, was received from the 0~era~a Mutuo Soccorso Society of South San Francisco. Granted. Guiseppe Galli made offer in writingto clean the city streets according to specifi- cations for the sum of ~00 per month. Communication ordered filed. Patrick McCormack, through Contractor Geoge Wilson, petitioned the Board for a permit to construct a four room cottage at 211, the south side of California Avenue, between Cypress end Linden Avenues. Permit Granted with the request that the building Inspector be notified on his return, Frederick W.Brown made application for a ~oo! room license for the location ~228 Grand Avenue, having made arrangements to take over the business of ~[.B.Xoop. Referred to the City Liarshal for investigation. The laid over petition of Marlo Cagnaccia to be allowed to continue his grocery business on Baden Ave, came up for consideration and was referred to the City Attorhe~? ~' for investigation and advice. City Lngineer Geo.A.Ymeese avpeared before the Board in reference to the proposed raad from 0rankle Aveune to Third Street,,in Boa Ceritos. But one re~]~ to the c~t~z's ~etters to the various companies requesting rights of way for the construction of this road having been received, the President of the Board instructed the city EnFineer to get in touch with the companies affected. A light was reported required st the junction of Park Way and Walnut Avenue. 'The Clerk was instructed to address a comm~mication to the Pacific Gas & Electric Company and request that ~ ]i?)~t be ~e~ st tho ~o~.n~ mentioned. Lights'were' reported:~out on the San Druno Y, oad in the vicinity off ~ ' ~ ~,andolph Avenue. It was stated that these lights have been out many weeks. The Clerk was instructed to write the ~?aciffic ~ , ..... ~sny and inform them of this fact, and also state that the service of kee~ing up the city lighIs has been neglected, and more efficiency is required. The cie~k was instructed to inquire from the ~as a Electric Company as to the proposed time of replacing the oresent wooden poles on Gr:nd Avenue with more serviceable ones.
