HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1923-11-19REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN ~RANCIS00 MELD MONDAY, NOVEMBER LSTH,192J The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco was held Monday, November 19th.192~, in the City Hall. The meeting was called to ordez at 7;30 o'clock p. m. by Trustee G.W.Holston, President of the Board. ROI~L CALL. Roll call found all Trustees present, to-wit;- Trustees, F.A.Cunningham,A.J.Eschelbach, J.W.Pitt, H.Scampini.and G.W.Holston. Absent, Trustees, None. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and upon motion by Trustee Cunningham seconded by Trustee Eschelbach and regularly carried were approved as read. A petition was received from the Pacific Gas & Electric Company asking permission to set one pole on Park Way to supply one street light. Referred to the street committee. The Standard 0il Company made application for permission to construct, maintain and operate an automobile supply station at the North West Corner of Miller Avenue and San Bruno Road. Pending the amending of the Zone ordinance to eleminate this district the oil company was given permission to proceed with the work of constructing. Application was made by the Steel Workers Uniom for permission to hold a dance in Fraternal Hall Thanksgiving eve, Wedneaday, November 28th,1923. Granted. South San Francisco Grove #lTl. U.A.0.D, applied for permission to hold a dance in Fraternal Hall, Saturday evening, December 8th,1923, the same to be a Masquerade Ball, and to until 2 A.M. Granted. A communication was received from Carlo C.Rostoni,445 Lux Avenue, asking for a refund of taxes on his property on account of b~ing a discharged soldier. The clerk was instructed to request that his discharge be submitted with the aDplication. Refund of taxes to W.E.Lucchesi and Chas. l~i~ani was allowed, they having previously submitted their d scharge papers. The ~arket Street Railway Company and the Spring Valley Water Company submitted deeds for rights of way across their ~roperty at the foot of Third Street, Town of Baden. E.E.Cunningham appeared before the Board and made demand that they ~ake action against the city,for ths return to the city Treasury, the sum of $2?48.35, paid the A.J.Kane Detective Agency. He also asked that the members of the Board and the Treasurer,individually, return the amount. The demand was not answered. The notion was seconded by Trustee Pitt and regularly carried. There being no further business before the Board Trustee Pitt moved to adjourn until Monday, November 26th,1923,at 7:30 o'clock p.m. The motion was seconded by Trustee Scampini and regularly carried .
