HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 112-2014 RESOLUTION NO. 112-2014 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION APPROVING HOUSING INVESTMENT PLAN AND DISPOSITION OPTIONS FOR 201 BADEN AVENUE WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 8-2012, adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco on January 25, 2012, the City of South San Francisco ("City") agreed that upon dissolution of the Redevelopment Agency of the City of South San Francisco (the "Redevelopment Agency") on February 1, 2012 pursuant to Assembly Bill xl 26 ("ABx1 26"), the City: (i) would serve as the successor agency to the Redevelopment Agency ("Successor Agency"), and (ii) would assume the housing functions of the Redevelopment Agency; WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 34176(a), added by Assembly Bill xl 26 and modified by Assembly Bill 1484, provides that the housing assets of a former redevelopment agency shall be transferred to the entity that assumes the housing functions formerly performed by such redevelopment agency (the "Housing Successor"); and WHEREAS, the Successor Agency has acknowledged that the housing assets identified on the Housing Assets List attached to this Resolution as Exhibit A (the "Housing Assets") were conveyed to the City by operation of law upon dissolution of the Redevelopment Agency on February 1, 2012, and the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, acting in its capacity as Housing Successor, has acknowledged the acceptance of the Housing Assets. WHEREAS, the City is the owner of certain real property located in the City of South San Francisco, California, known as County Assessor's Parcel Numbers 012-033-100 and 012- 033-110 (201 Baden Avenue); and WHEREAS, the City Council seeks to create a thriving community with quality housing options for residents of all income levels; and WHEREAS, the City Council reviewed the draft Housing Investment Plan and directed staff to develop a plan to advance the development of higher density housing in the Downtown that meets the housing needs of residents of all income levels. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the Housing Investment Plan in the form attached hereto, is hereby approved, and the City Manager is hereby authorized to take actions necessary or appropriate to implement the intent of this Resolution. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 8th day of October, 2014 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark N.
