HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 114-2014 RESOLUTION NO. 114-2014 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF$40,000 IN GRANT FUNDING TO SUPPORT PROJECT READ SERVICES AND AMENDING THE LIBRARY DEPARTMENT'S 2014-2015 OPERATING BUDGET WHEREAS,the City of South San Francisco("City")Library Department established Project Read to assist adults and their families in reaching literacy goals; and WHEREAS, the Silicon Valley Community Foundation awarded a grant to the City in the amount of$40,000 to fund Project Read's Financial Well-being programming; and WHEREAS,staff recommends the acceptance of the grant funding in the amount of$40,000 from the Silicon Valley Community Foundation to support the services by Project Read; and WHEREAS,the foregoing grant funds will be used to amend this year's operating budget of the Library Department. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby accepts $40,000 in grant funding from the Silicon Valley Community Foundation and amends the Library Department's 2014-2015 Operating Budget in order to reflect an increase of$40,000. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 22nd day of October, 2014 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark N.
