HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 115-2014 RESOLUTION NO. 115-2014 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AMENDING AN EXISTING CONSULTING SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH HARRIS & ASSOCIATES FOR THE EAST OF HIGHWAY 101 RAMP IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS TO AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $951,497 WHEREAS, on November 14, 2012, the City Council authorized execution of a consulting services agreement with Harris & Associates of Concord, California, to provide construction management services in an amount not to exceed $472,645 for the East of 101 Ramp Improvement Projects; and WHEREAS, on July 24, 2013, the City Council authorized an amendment to the consulting services agreement with Harris & Associates Company in an amount not to exceed $642,471, an increase of$169,826 for the US 101 Ramp Improvements Project, which included the modification of the South Airport Boulevard off-ramp and the modifications at the South Airport Boulevard and Utah Avenue intersection; and WHEREAS, City of South San Francisco ("City") staff requested a second revised proposal from Harris & Associates to continue to provide construction management services for the Project through Project completion; and WHEREAS, the additional services are necessary due to constructability issues, weather delays and delays due to PG&E for de-energizing overhead power wires prior to installation of new signal poles at the intersection of Utah Avenue and South Airport Boulevard; and WHEREAS, staff recommends approval of an amendment to the existing consulting services agreement with Harris & Associates of Concord, California for additional work for the Project in an additional amount not to exceed $309,026; and, WHEREAS, staff also recommends approval of allocating $50,000 to the Project budget as contingency funds for additional unforeseen conditions; and, WHEREAS, the Project is included in the City of South San Francisco's 2014-2015 Capital Improvement Program ("CIP") and sufficient funds have been allocated to cover the Project cost. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby authorizes the amendment of the existing consulting services agreement with Harris & Associated of Concord, California to include the East of 101 Ramp Improvement Project to a total amount not to exceed $951,497. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute an amendment to the consulting services agreement on behalf of the City upon timely submission by Harris & Associates signed contract amendment and all other required documents, subject to approval by the City Attorney. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 22° day of October, 2014 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark N.
