FEBRUARY !ST,1926.
The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco was held
in the City Hall Monday evening, February lst,]926.
The m, oeting was called to o~der at 7;50 o'clock p.m. by Trustee H.F.McNel!is, President
of the Board.
ROLL CALL.
Roll call found al! trustees present, to-wit,

The minutes of the previous meeting were read, and there bein~ no errors or omissions
were approved as res, d.
A communication w~s received from the Market Street Railway Company stating that the
easement from the L~r~et Street Railway Company to !he City of South San Francisco for the crossing
of their tracks at Third Street, Town of Ba~]enhad been granted and the same v:oul5 be sent to the si'
for siffnature in the same mail. The eesement arrive~J on time, ~"as du?~y signed and a copy retained
for the city files.
J.X.t,!cLeod made ayp!ication for parmission to build s concrete retaining wall on lot 1~,
block 77, Il;[al~ of South San Francisco, 44 feet on Grand Avenue and 72 feet on Laurel Avenue. Permit
~ranted. Offficer Joe Bildhauer, on sick leave for several months, requested an additional leave of
absence of six months. Granted.
A com~.unication was received from Lawrence Vincenzini asking for permission to construct
a temporary storage ~lace on the rear off his lot 2]6 Grand Avenue, while constructing a building
at the South ]Jest Corner of I.,h,p]e a~nd Grand Avenues. Permi::~ion ~jranted during the construction
the new building.
Permission to hold a dance in Fraternal HaRt Saturday evenin[~ February 20 ,ne:.:t ,was .. asked b
E.Nebo]ini, Capt,.in of the Ha~a Club off South..San Francisco. Permit granted.
Geo. A.~eese, city Engineer submitted a report stating contractor Tobin was entitled to
~240 additiona, l onaccount off four manholes placed in the sewer west of Chestnut Avenue, which were
not iuc~.uded i~ the final estimate of quantities. On motion regularly carried the amount ~'as s!]ow

Commerce stating R.lJ.Mi. chel, constructor of the South San Francisco Diamond Jubilee Float claims
a be!amc of ~69 on the sa~.:e on accoun,, of an e:.:tra days participation in the parde. After discusai
the claim ~';ss alT owed and the amount ordered paid.
A reply was receive~:: from the ~outh San Francisco Water Company in answer to the city's
Resolution on Water Franchise,. , requesting the comvany~ to app~_~, for a ffranchise t~ distribute water
to the city. and its inhabitants. The con-,any stated that under the Const'itutiOn of the State of
Ca].ifornia, article !1, Section 19, ny. to October ]0,1911, they held franchise by state right, and
. since that recuires no other and shall not rtake a?plication for any additiont:i ffranchi~e.
The opinion of City Attorney Scampini was submitted in connection with the water company's answer.
The city attorney stated lhat he is convinced there is no ob]i~'~'
~ ~a~on on the. ~s.~t of the water comps:
to seek a franchise. The rustler w~s refer:ed back to the city attorney for further investigation
and advice.
