ROLL CALL Roll call found the following trustees present, to-wit;- Trustees, Lloyd, Minucciani, Tibbett~, Cunningham. Absent,Trustee Eschelbach. Trustee Eschelb~ch appeared after roll call. The minutes of' the previous meeting ~'ere re~d, and thore b9ing no errors or omissions were ~pproved as read. Application was made by the P~ci~i~ G~s & Electric Company for a permit to set poles on Asp~ Avenue, east and we~t of Linden Avenue. Permit granted. A communication was received from the Board of School Trustees of the city making requ;:st f~ police protection for the school children at nine o'clock, twelve o'clock and one o'clock at the Gra~ Avenue school and the D;artin School. Re£erred to tho police comnission. A communication w~.s received from the South San ~ranci~co Land & Improvement Company asking £or a refund of taxes paid on lots I to lA, block lA6, map of South San Francisco, im an amount to be calculated, having deeded 89 feet o£ the lots facing the 8an Bruno Road to the State of California for Highway purposes. T~e Board will investigate the matter. A communicatioD w~s received from the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company regarding the city's reque~,t to move a pole from the rear of ~§67 Miller Avenue, stating they would give ;he matte~ ~heir attention. ~has. J.Gebhar~, 5~8 Grand Avenue, made a request upon the board to have a pole moved from £ront of 5A2 Grand Aven~e. Referred to the street committee. Requests were received 'from J.V.Ron, R.~akkema, and Anette Fourie for a refund of certain ~onies paid .for the cutting of weeds. City Engineer Geo.A.Kneese was consuIted as to uhe ~,erits of claims~' submitted to th~ board for refunds .on account of the cutting o£ weeds. He advised that the refunds be granted. The clerk was instructed to'compile a list of names of those entitled ~o the re~ together with ~he amounts due, and submit ~ame to the board £or~approval. An a~plication for a soft drink license was received from Maximo Lopez. Trustee Tibbetts introduced a resolution submitting a map of Parkway Terrace to city engine~ Kneese for his consideration. The resolution ~as adopted by the unanimous wote of the members of ti board, RecordeG in Book of Resolutions, Vol.2, at page 127. Attest,Daniel McSweeney, city Cl~ City Engineer Kneese reported to the board that he had studied the map and found that its streets conform to the neighboring streets ~nd highways, and recommended its adoption. ~ RESOLUTION APPROVING PAi~,VAY TERRACE. Trustee Tibbetts introduced a re~olution approving the map of Par;G'~ay Terrcae~.s~id accepting the dedication of ?arkway Terrace from the South San ~rancisco Land and Improvement Company. The resolution was ~dopted by the unanimous vote of the members o£ the board, to-wit;-Ayes,Trustees, ' Eschelbach, Lloyd, Minucciani, Tibbetts, Cunningham, Noes, none, absent, Trustees, none. Attes-Dan~ McSweeney, City Clerk. Recorded in Book of Resolutions, vol,2, at page 128. Ira H.Potter appeared before the board representing the BOyS Scouts and asked that a port~ of the city park be allowed ~he boys £or use in their training activities. The request was granted az city engineer ~neese was instructed to lacate a section for their use. Ohas Gebhardt requested the board to remove a Eucalyptus tree from the sidewlak space on Grs Avenue,-~stating the same was causing the sidewalk to crack and bulge. President Cunningham said the would be attended to by the street committee, who would also ascertain if there were other trees caus damage to sidewalk~, which should be removed. ~round ~all grds.Gordon Roe o£ the'Gordon Roe Accounting company submitted fiscal year and up to the end of November. The report stated he found the city's books in good shape, ~gnd all monies collected and expended properly accounted for. The instructed to Orange city engineer investigate the m~tter. The appointment of T.Eartins ~s ~emp0r~ry policeman was confirmed by the board. W.W.~rawn, Building Inspector, was appoints a Deputy Marshall in conjunction with his work as Plumbing, Electric and Building Imspector. Trustee Tibbet~s recommended tkat a windbrake of Eucalyptus be planted around ball grounds.Rec~mmend$~tion~apDr~e~A ~ermission to construct a temporary garage on lots 18-19 block lA?, a ~eriod o£ six months, after which-time he might apply for an extension,was granted A.Chelini.
