The meeting was ca~led to order at 7:30 o'clock p.m. by Councilman A.J.Eschelbach, I~Iayor of South San Francisco. ROLL CALL. Roll call found the following councilmen present; to-wit;- Councilmen, A.H~ding, R.Lloyd, R.Tibbetts, and A.J.Sschelbach. L.Lmnucciani. Absent, Councilman. ~ ~' The minutes of the previous meeting were read. There being no errors or omissions Councilman Lloyd moved they be ado~sted ss read. The motion was seconded by Councilman Tibbetts and regularly carried. A communication was received ~rom the i~2etal & Thermit Coi~:pany asking the privilege of usinM the new baseball gro~mds .... ~-~a~ mornings~ b-y the idetal ~;" Thermit baseball team. Referred to Counci~- man Tibbetts, chairman of the committee. The local tribe of Redmen through the Ca-~tain of its baseball team, J.J.Bonalanza asked e° -~ the honor of b mn~ one of the teams on the ball gromads on the opening day, on account of having three successive victories to their creait on the Peninsula. Referred to Chairm~n Tibbetts. The report of the City Treasurer for ti.e month ending August Zlst,19£7 was next read and accepted. This bein~ the date set for the ouening of bids for the purchase of lll fire hydrants Mayor Eschelbach called for a motion to open the bids. Accordingly Councilmen Hynding moved the bids be opened. The motion was seconded by Counci3man Lloyd and regularly carried. The following bids were then opened:- Bid of Al. Assistant City Engix~eer Robert Xlasson az?eared before the board and recommended that the city secure the services of En!~im~er Pagan to supervise the installation of the new fire alarm extensions. It was stated ~2r. Degan would donate his services free to Ihs city. The mat~er ~/ill be further discussed at a future meeting. Engineer Klasson stated with reference to the. fire hydrants near ,/wetern Meat Company that one of them was in the street in front of the '~estern l[eat Co's property and should be looke~: after by the city, while the second hydrant is off the street or right Of way and in front of ~,rivate propsrty. The clerk was instructed to communicate with Mr. Hoopor of the Western Mca t Company to this effect. There being no further business, Councilman Hynding moved to adjourn until the next regular meeting, ~onday, October 3rd,1927, at 7;30 o'clock p.m. The motion was seconded .by Councilman Tibbetts and regularly carried.
