The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of South 'San Francisco was held in the City Hall Monday evening, November 5th,1928. The meeting :vas called to order at ?;~0 o'clock p.m. by councilman k.J.~..chelbach Mayor of South San Francisco. ROLL CALL. Roll call found all members of the council present, to-wit;- Coztucilmen, A.Hynding, il.Lloyd, M.i~!inucciani, ii. Tibbetts, .=.J.~chelbach. The minutes of the two p~evious meetings~,~ere read. There 'being no errors or Omissions counc: man Tibbetts mov~-~d they be adopted as read. The motion was seconded by co~cilman Minucciani and regu', carried. A co~:m~mication was received from Carl 'Jeller, ,~500 3aden Avenue, asking the city to includ ::he intersection of Baden Avenue and ~ruce ~venue as a stpp sign point, in view off various accidents having occurred there. The clerk ~-~_~s instructed to answer the request and state the new traffic ordin would include the intersection referred to. The A.J.Fairbanks Co. Inc., asked permission to erect a 285 gallon storage ta~ for gasolin at their place of business in South San Francisco, stating they had complie~ with ~ll regulations as the posting of notices, etc, Referred to the fire chief. '~'he South San Francisco Vol~teer Fire Departr:ent made application for ~ermi~:~ion to hold whist party and dance on'the nighs of November 24th next. Pe~ission granted. Secretary De Lemos of the Steel Workers L-,dge made application for permissi,>n to hold annual Thanksgiving eve dance in ~raternal Hall ~¥ednesday evening, i~ovember 28th next. Permit granted South San Francisco, hr~ J.Oineer, owner off portions off lots 2 and Z, block 1Z5, lda-n off for a refund off ~.48, having paid thi~ mo~t charged ~gainst her lo~ for the cl~.~,ar~'n,~c:, away of weeds. Referred to Assistant Su-~'intendent off streets W.W.Brawn. The city ordered five maps. J.A.Carroll, re~,resenting the ,,ustin-Uestern Road Idachinery Corn?any, '~ppeared before the council and recommended a high grade ~:treet sweeper for the city. Taken under consideration. ,,~yor Eschelbach stated the alleys should be numbered for .he benefit of householders and 1,he guid ncc of 'the lettercarriers. The engineer's department was instz~ucted to bring the n~bering bloc]: book u-:~ to date, as v,,elL1 as the sewer block book and the city map.
