The regular meeting of the City Council of the Cit~; of ~outh 5an ~!za~cisco was held in the ~I%~ hall Eonday evening, April lst,19Eg. The meeting was called to order at 7;~0 o'clock p.m. by Counctl.m~n A.J.~;schelbach, ~ayor of Scut, San Francisco. EOLL CALL. Roll call found all members of the council presez~t,' to-wit;- Councilmen, A.}~;~nding, ,~.Llo;,'d,~,.J,']inucciani, ~.TibOetts, A.J.E~¢helb~ch. The minutes of the previous meeting were read. The Foster & Kleiser Co. was granted permission to erect a sign board ~n Grand Ave. Bet.~aple Linden Ave,A petition was received from eigh~ property owners in the vicinity of ~he r'~sidence of ~¥.L.~ici:ey 765 ~iller~Avenue, stating they had no objections to the installation of.a gasoline pump and tank by W.L.Hickey. Petition denied. The Italian Am.erican Atheletic Club made application for a dance pern~it i'or Oaturday evening, April 6, th. Permit granted. A communic8tion was received from the Cit;' of ~an Bruno stating they went on record at their last m~eting in favor of the project of creating a sanitary aistrlct for San Bruno, ~outh San ~'rancis and Lomita Park. Accepted .and filed. 'z'he application of G.Gelepses for a soft drink, license was denied, as was his application f~r a pool roCm license. Soft drink licenses were granted Frank Senn, E Anduiza and Antonsno & 5garti. The company bid the following unit prices subject to all the ter~,s and conditions mentioned i: the call, to-wit;- Item A--construction of reinforced cem.ent $ortar sign. including all grading neces labor, materials and all incidental' work t~ereto, complete, ~$.19 (Nineteen Oente; per aquare fcc A c~eck in the sun~ of ~464.50 was su~mi~%ea with the bid as t~-~n per cent oI' the cost of the work. 'z'he bid being satisfactory Councilman Einucciani introdmced a resolution awarding the contrac' to the ~ement ~un Construction Company of Ca lifornia. An ordinace entitled" AN 0HDINAJ~CE ~GUIATING THE SALE OF MILK AND C~AM AND PROVIDING FOR MI~[ INSPECTING SERVICE FOR THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO." was introduced by Councilman Tibbetts, had its first reading and was laid over to come up under the regular order of Business at the next regular meeting of the city council. Councilman H~nding reported ~rog, ess in the matter of the proposition to widen and set electri in Linden Avenue. Councilman LloyA advocated immediate action on the improvement of Industrial Way from Swift Avenue to Butler Road. Engineer Klassen stated nothing could be done until the rights of way are first secured. City Attorney Coleberd and the Engineer's office will take quick action on ~he right of way problem. Mayor Eschelbach asked to city Clerk to request the city auditors to chec~ up on the gifferen( between the Treasuzer and the Clerk. Also to request the auditors to furnish a statement showing the amoun~ of empenditures in the fire department up to date. The Fat Boy Cabins application for R psrmit to set a gasoline tan~ an pump in the rear of the~ place of business was laid over. ~.Biancha on Grand Ave Extension requested a guy wire be removed from in front of his proper~ keferred to Councilman Tibbetts. The clerk was instructed to order thirteen four hundred candle power bracket lamps placed in Cypress Avenue between Baden and California Avenues, from the lighting company.
