AGENDA REVIEW No changes CONSENT CALENDAR 1. Motion to approve the minutes of the September 27, 2000 regular meeting 2. Motion to confirm expense claims of October 11, 2000 in the amount of $23,130.47 Motion-Fernekes/Second-Gonzalez: To approve the Consent Calendar as presented. Unanimously approved by voice vote. ADMINISTRATIVE BUSINESS 3. Resolution authorizing award of contract for 339-341 Commercial Avenue residential rehabilitation Staff report presented by Assistant Redevelopment Agency Director Van Duyn. Boardmember Penna questioned the bidding process and the mounting cost of the project. He suggested an alternative proposal of high density affordable housing units such as the 20 unit building on the 300 block of Baden Avenue. Boardmember Mullin discussed with staff the cost of the rehabilitation work in comparison to the construction or habilitation of other units, such as Greenridge or Willow Gardens. He further discussed Councilman Penna's suggestion and requested the item be continued for staff to prepare a comparison scenario. Vice Chair Femekes concurred with Boardmember Mullin's request and asked that the ..... comparison report include the proposed senior facility on Chestnut Avenue (Cuneo's property). Mayor Matsumoto discussed the escalating cost of the rehabilitation work and asked for a time estimate as to when the project will be available on the market. She further discussed leasing the land for development, which staff indicated is an option that can be considered. Motion-Fernekes/Second-Gonzalez: To continue the item for a comparison report to be prepared by staff. Unanimously approved by voice vote.
