CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF
$10,500 IN GRANT FUNDING FROM GET HEALTHY SAN
MATEO COUNTY TO SUPPORT THE MOTIVATING
OTHERS VIA EXERCISE (MOVE) PROGRAM AND
AMENDING THE PARKS AND RECREATION
DEPARTMENT 2014/15 OPERATING BUDGET.
WHEREAS, Get Healthy San Mateo County's Motivating Others Via Exercise (MOVE)
Program is an initiative to support efforts in creating a safe, healthy, and inclusive play program
during outside play time; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation was awarded $10,500 in grant
funds to support children's health and physical fitness in the After School Recreation Programs
and the Children's Center operated by the South San Francisco Unified School District; and
WHEREAS, $10,500 in grant funding will be utilized to amend the Department's
2014/15 operating budget to fund staff training, equipment purchase and follow-up consultations
for the creation of inclusive and healthy play opportunities; and
WHEREAS, acceptance of these funds does not commit the City to ongoing funding after
the close of the grant cycle; and
WHEREAS, receipt of these grant funds will enable the Parks and Recreation
Department to implement programs and services which are not otherwise funded, and support the
health of elementary age children.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby authorizes the acceptance of $10,500 in grant funding
from Get Healthy San Mateo County to support the MOVE Program and amending the Parks and
Recreation Department 2014/15 operating budget.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the
documents necessary to effectuate the intent of this resolution on behalf of the City Council.

the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 10th day of
December, 2014 by the following vote:
