HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 130-2014 RESOLUTION NO. 130-2014 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF$14,159 IN GRANT FUNDING FROM PACIFIC LIBRARY PARTNERSHIP TO SUPPORT A MULTIMEDIA CONTENT CREATION LAB AT THE MAIN LIBRARY AND AMENDING THE LIBRARY DEPARTMENT'S 2014-2015 OPERATING BUDGET. WHEREAS,the City of South San Francisco("City")Library Department prioritizes services surrounding adult learning, workplace readiness and technology skill building; and WHEREAS, the Pacific Library Partnership has awarded an Innovation and Technology Opportunity grant to the City in the amount of$14,159 to implement a Multimedia Content Creation Lab; and WHEREAS, adding this lab, along with instruction in its use,will extend the Library's role as the community's center for learning,self-improvement,career development and business start-up; and WHEREAS,staff recommends the acceptance of the grant funding in the amount of$14,159 from the Pacific Library Partnership to implement a Multimedia Content Creation Lab; and WHEREAS,the foregoing grant funds will be used to amend this year's operating budget of the Library Department. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby accepts $14,159 in grant funding from the Pacific Library Partnership and amends the Library Department's 2014-2015 Operating Budget in order to reflect an increase of$14,159. * * * * * I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 10t1i day of December, 2014 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Pradeep Gupta, Karyl Matsumoto and Liza Normandy Vice Mayor Mark N.
