HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1940-12-30REGULARLY ADJO~,RNED I~IEETING OF TP~E CITY COUNCIL OF Tt~!E CITY OF SOUTH S~N FRANCISCO,HELD ~0NDAY, D~C~.i,'~BER 30TH,1940 A regularly adjourned meeting of the city council of the City of South San Francisco was held in the city hall, ~onday evening, December 30,1940. in the absence of l¥~ayor Holston, the City Clerk called the meetin? to order and requested that a Mayor Pro tem be selected. Accordingly Councilman Lloyd nominated Councilman Ratto to fill the chair for the meeting. The motion was seconded by Councilman Boido and regularly carri. Councilman Ratto then took the chair and called the meeting to order at 8;05 o'clocl P.M. Roll Call. Roll call found the following members of the city council present;~ Councilmen, V.~oido, Re Lloyd, D.W.Ratto, Rod Tibbetts. Absent, .~ ~ayor George W.Holston. She reading of the minutes of the previous meetinM~as dispensed with. Tle principal business of the meeting to be transited was the opening of bids for the purchase'of a new Buick car for the police departmentQ Councilman Tibbetts moved that the bids be opened. The motion was seconded by councilman Boido and regularl)~ carried. There were but two bids submitted, that of Howard Buick Company of Burlingame and Belli Motor Company of Colma. ~he Howard Buick Company bid the sum of ~$1SZl,S1, and bid the sum of ,~505 for the city's 1939 Buick car, and ~83.43 for a police ~'.enerator and a 21 plate battery in exchange for original equipmen, t on the car. Total $1110.04. Belli ~;{otor Company Bid the sum of .;~1531~ and an allowance of 155~5 on the city's 1939 Bui and offered to furnish one oolice generator and 1,~l plate battery in exchange f or original equipment on the car for .~83.43, Total ~1090.04. %he Bell-i~qiTctor 5ompany of Colma being the lowest bidder Councilman Boido' introduced a resolution of the City Council of the City of South San ~ranc_sco awarding the contract to the Be!l~. ~otor Company of Colms for the orice stipulated in their b~.d, .$1090.04. The resolution was adopted by tke votes of all the member of the city council present, as follows;- Ayes, Councilmen, V.Boido, Reese Lloyd, D.W.Ratto, Rod Tibbetts. Noes, Councilmen,None.
