A regularly adjourned'meeting of the city council of the City of South San Francisco
was held in the city hall Wednesday, July 30th,1941.
This meeting was called to order by Mayor George W.Holsto~ at l0 o'clock A.M.

Roll call found the following named councilmen present,as follews;-
Counctlmen,V.B~ido,George W. Helsten,D.W.Ratte,Rod Tibbetts.
Absemt, Councilman Reese Lloyd.
The ~eading ef the minutes of the previous meetingswas dispensed with.
A written communication was received from J.S.Baker,contraCter on furnishing rock for
pavement on Grand Avenue, as follows;-
I,J.S.~aker.the undersigned,hereby represemt to the
city council ef the City ef South San Francisce that I am unable te perform the .work provided
for in my contract with said city, dated June 16,1941, wherein I agreed to furnish te said
city certain gray shale rock for the comstruction efa base course for paving en Grand Avenue
in said city, b2 reason of the fact that the reck required to be used in said contract is too
hard to be crushed by the roller mow used by me,and, for this reason, I ask to be releaved fr,.m
mT obligation to perform the work provided for in said contract. Dated,July 50th,19%l,

Councilman Botdo introduced a resolution of the city council of the City of South
Francisco relieving J.S.Baker ef his obligation under contract with the City ef South San Fran-
cisco,dated June 16,1941. The resolution was adopted by the votes ef all the members of the
city council present , as follows;-
Ayes, Councilmen, V.Beido,George W.Bolston, D.W.Eatte,Rod Tibbetts.
Noes, Councilmen, None.
Absent, Councilman, Reese Lloyd. Attest Damiel McSweeney

was adopted by the votes of all the members ef the city council present,as follows;-
Ayes, Councilmen, V.Boide, Goerge W.Holston,D.W.Ratte,Red Tibbetts.
Noes, Councilmen,None.
