A regUlarly adjourned meeting of the citycouncil ef the City of S~uth Saff Francisco was held in the City Hall,Tuesday evening, August 15,1941. This ~eeting was called to order at 8 o'clock P.M. by Mayer~George W.Holston. ROLL CALL. Roll 'call found th~ foliowing members of the council present,.- Coundilmen,V.Boido,George W.Holston, Reese Lloyd. ' Absent, Council~en,D.W.Ratto,Rod Tibbetts. The ~eading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with. City ~ngineer Marshall submitted a set of plans and specifications amd no~ice of call for bids for construction cf Colma Creek Canal between Orange Avenue and Linden Avenue. The proposed p~ans provide for construction of a sedimentation Basin of 90, 000 cubic yards, and the entire work covers 100,000 cubic yards. Councilman Boido introduced a resolution of the City Council of the City of 8outh San Francisco adoptingthe plans and specifications for the work. The resolution was adopted by the votes of all the members of the city council present, as follows~ A~es, Councilmen, V. Boido, 'George W.Holston, Reese ~Zoyd. Noes, Council~enNone. A re~olution orderin~ excavation of canal and settling basin for Colma Cre~k in the City of Se~th San Francisco and calling for bids for the construction of the sam~ and setting the da~e for ep~ning the~bids~as Tuesday, September o,1941, at 8 o'clock P.M. and sho~ing the scale of wages to be ~aid, was introduce~ by Councilman Lloyd. ' The ~esolution was adopted by the votes of all the members of the council ~resent,as follows;- Ayes[ Councilmen, V.Boido,George W.Holston,Reese Lloyd. Noes[ Councilmen,None. City'attorney Coleberd requested the city to purchase a"National InstituSeof Municipal Law Officers~" for the use of the c£ty~ stating t'ue price is $28. Councilman Lloyd moved that ne make the purchase. The motion was seconded by Councilman Boido and reguIarly carried. City ~ngineer Marshall advised that the city sell the old steel rails. Councilman Lloyd believed th~ Bethleham Steel Corp'n's bid of $14.50 was insignificant, and bids should be called for, and accordingly moved the city call for bids. The motion was seconded by Councilman Boido and regularly carried. There being no/fUrthor bu~rinoss before the board Councflman Lloyd moved to adjourn until Tuesday, September'2,1941.at 8 o'clock P.M.
