The meeting was called to order at 8 o'clock P.M. by Mayor D.W.Ratto. ROLL CALL. Roll call found all members of the council present, as follows;- Councilmen V.Boido,George W.Holston,Reese Lloyd, M.Minucciani,D.W.Ratto. The minutes of the two previo~s meetings were read. There being no errors or omissions, they were approved as read. A communication was received from the Pacific Gas & Electric Company requesting permission to extend their 9" gas main .in Orange Avenue east of Fairway Drive,Southwood , a distance of 75 feet. ~eferred to councilman Minucciani. A communication was received from J.N.Hedberg , offering to provide the city with four SIRENs , same as sampled at the city hall, for the sum of ~10~.5o each, less 5~ delivered to the city hall,and ~ additional reduction if paid for within ten days after delivery. Councilman Holston moved the offer be accepted. The motion was seconded by councilman Boido and regularly carried. Notice was received from the State Board of Equalization of the application of An~elo Genovesi and Louis Orignoli for an on sale distilled spirits license and an on sale beer and wine license. There were no objections by the city council. Notice was also received from the Statg Board of Equalization of the application of Guiseppe ~ John E.Penna for a wine bottling, Off Sale Beer & Wine and Off Sale Distilled Spirits license. There were no objections by the city council. A communication was received by city engineer Klassen from N.A.Eckart, Chief Engineer & eneral Manager of the San Francisco Water Works in the matter of the relocation of the 60-inch ain at Orange Avenue Bridge, stating he would not proceed with the work until further notice is received from the city engineer. Communication ordered file, A communication was received from Mr. M.Hinrichs,Oppenheimer Casing Company, superintendent, stating their new plant would be re~dy July 7 , and requested permission to be a~loweed to continue ~u oneration until then. City attorney Coleberd stated ~e had started proceedings for the company's removel. They were allowed to continue till the next day,the 7th of July. Chief of ~lice belloni submitted tl'~e following name~~ appointed~tas police officers to the Western Pipe & Steel Company,-Sasil L.Stanley,Lee Lancaster,Emrys M.Jones,Albert D.Klick Gordon Curry,Reginal~ O.Riley,Chester A.WhiteEdgar M.Wilkinson,Thomas C.Taylor,Frank B.Baker,Ra Ralph R.Disher,Ralph R.Gehring,Arlie Beecher,Harrison. V.Baily,Douglass W.Petit,Albert Korss, Horace Terry Keeler,Kenneth Simm,Earl Clark; to the ~e~hleham Steel Corporatior~,Lee R.Wise and Donald P.Eichelson, and on the auxil!sr¥ force, Gharles H.Bloomer. Councilman Holston moved the appointments be confirmea, without compensaZion from the city.The motion was seconded by councilman ~inucciani and regularl~ carried. A communication from A1.J.Welte Asked for a raise in salary of ~5 a month. Councilm~n kolston moved the request be granted. Councilman Lloyd stated some adjustmenta were contemplated and the matter was laid over. Engineer Klassen .submitted a report on the maintenance of Colma Creek from above Orange Avenue Park'~to"the b~east~of'~acco:Road, and ~ plan'for.~the~imo~Ovem~nt of Colma~Or~ek from Linden Avenue to the Bayshore Highway, at an estimated cost of $30,500. The report was ordered placed on file'. The monthly reports of the Poundkeeper,Sanitary Inspector,Building Inspector, Chief of Police, City Judge,Fi~e Chief and City Clerk for the month ending June 30,194~ , were submitted and accepted. ~he Gordon Rowe Company reported progress of the yearly report. Accepted. A communication was received from the committee on Gas Tax Allocation of the League of California Cities,peninsula Division, requesting that an attact~ed resolution, or a similar one, adopted for presentation to the ~oard of Supervisors of San ~ateo ~ounty making application to the Board of Supervisors for the cities to share in the state gasoline tax subvention. Councilm~n Holston introduced a resolution of the city council of the City of South San'Francisco authorizing the committee of the Peninsula Division of the League of California Cities on the apportionment of county gasoline taxes to represent this city before the ~oard of Supervisors of this county requesting an equitable portion of the fiscal year~ taxes and subsequent taxes. The resolution was adopted by the votes of all the members of the city council,as follows;- A~es, Councilmen,V.Boido,George W.Holston,Reese Lloyd, ~.~inucciani,D.W.Ratto, Noes, Councilmen.None.
