Call and waiver of notice of special meeting of the city council of the City of South San Francisco,of whic] the following is a copy;- The undersigned, members of the city council of the City of South San Francisco, hereby call a special meeting of said city council to be held in the ~ouncil ~$amber, in the city hall of said city,on Wednesday,July 15,194~, at the hour of 7;45 o'cloc~ p~m. for the purpose of acting upon the application of Peter Sorensen for blasting with explosives withiu the City of South San Francisco, and for the transaction of all other business which may regularly come before said city council; and we hereby waive notice of said meeting and consent to the transaction thereat of all such business as may regularly come before said city council. This meeting was called to order at ~;4~ o'clock P.~. by ~ayor D.W.Ratto. ROLL CALL. Roll call found the following members of the council present;- Councilme$,V.Boido,George W.Holston.M.~inucciani,D.W.Eatto. Absent, Councilman,Reese Lloyd. The reading of the minutes of the previous meetings was dispensed with An application for a permit to blast materials at Smelter Hill,east of Bethleham Steel Company, for the construction of a government roadl from ~ayshore ~ighway to the U.S.Coa~ Guard Station was received from Peter Sorensen. A tentative bond was submitted . City attorney Coleberd stated the bond was insufficient and recommended that the council reje, it. It was decided to grant the permit to blast,, but ~. ~awaiting a full and sufficient bond. Oouncilman Ninucciani moved the permit be granted, with the cooperatio~ the city engineer, and police department, when the bond is submitted and accepted. The motion was seconded by councilman Boido and regularly carried. Fiv~days~were deemed' suf~ time for the blastina operations. Mayor ~atto stated the ~ fee was not enoud~ money to for the inspection by the city engineer. But the ordinance called' for this amount and there was no further action in the matter. ~here being no further business before the council,councilmcn Holston moved to adj~ until the next regular meeting, ~onday, July ~0,194~, at 8 o'clock P.~. The motion was seconded by councilman Minicciani and regularly carried. Time of adjournment 8 o'clock P.~.
