The undersigned, members of the eity Council of the City of South San Francisco,hereby call a special meeting of said city council, to be held in the council chamber of the City Hal~ of the City of South San Francisco on Thursday, the Vth day of January, 1943,at the hour of V;4( o'clock P.M. for the purpose of authorizing the publication of a notice calling for bids for furnishing an automobile for the use of the police department of said city,and for the transaction of all other business which may regularly come before the city council of the City of South San Frencisco, and we hereby waive notice of said meeting and consent to the transaction of all such business as may regularly come before the City Council of the City of South San Francisco. ROLL CALL. Roll call found all members of the council present,as follows;- Councilmen, V.Boido,George W.Holston,Reese Lloyd, M.Minucciani,D.W.Ratto. The-reading of the minites of the previous meeting wes dispensed with. RESOLUTION CALLING FOD BIDS FOR POLICE AUTOMOBILE. N0,88~ Councilman Lloyd introduced a resolution of the city council of the City of South San i~ Francisco calling for bids for an automobile for the police department of the City of South Saz Francisco, to be opened on Monday,Janusry 18,1945, at 8;00 o'clock p.m. The resolution was adopted by the votes of all the members of the city council,as folleW~ Ayes,Counctlmen,V.Boido,George W.Holston,Reese Lloyd,M.Mtnucciani,D.W.Ratto. Noes, Councilmen,None. Absent, Councilmen.None. Attest Daniel McSweeney, ~ City Clerk. Hecorded in Book of Resolutions, Vol. ~,at page o~ners A petition signed by 18 property'on ~rden Avenue, Paradise Valley, was meceived,asking that a street light be place~ at Randolph ~,&~iEdi. aon Avenue,.and~one in the middle of the block of Edison Avenue. Referred to councilman Minucciani. Na~e~ Ratto reported a large nmmber of automobiles an Butler Avenue recently,on both sldt of the road~especially in front of Western Pipe Company, and requested the police department to make some arrangements with the company to police the district, enforcing the parking laws arresting offenders and charge them the fine limit. City attorney Coleberd belived more offenders should be brought to the city hall and fined or Jailed. Police Chief Belloni stated that on paydays at the Weetern Pipe men have to get to the windows to get their checks,there i~ no other way to pay them,twould be impossible to keep the road clear entirely during that peri¢ He will confer with Df.Hart and request that the company have their police outside keePing the roadway as free from machines as possible,that he has not enough men himself, and cannot SPare more of the city force over there. Councilman Lloyd suggested the council get together some evening informallyand discuss the problem. Ail councilmen agreed on this. There being no further business before the board,councilman H,lston moved to adjourn unti~ Monday, January 18,1945,at 8 o'clock p.m. The motion was s~conded by councilman Minucciani and regularly carried.
