A regularl-y adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco was held in the City Hall,lY. onday evening, ~:;arah 8,1944. This meeting was called to order a~, V;30 o'clock P TM .:~,~. by I~layor D.W.Ratto. ROLL CALL. Roll call~ found the following named councilmen,present,- 0ouncilmen, V.Boido,George W.Holston,~I.~linucciani,D.W.Ratto. " :Absent, [fReese Lloyd. The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was ~ispensed with. A communication was received from the Peninsula Branch of the League of CaliTornia Cities announcing the next meeting of the branch would be held in the Palace Hotel,San Francisco , Thursday evenin~ karch 16,1944, and asked how many of the city administration could~ be in attendane. ~ayor ~'atto counted six who indicated they would be in attendance. City attorney Coleberd announced he was in possession of deeds from South San Francisco Land and Improvement Company granting the city various rights of way for streets affecting the deVelep- of the new proposed subdivision ~iAYFAIR VILLAGE, in lieu of a debt of s ~f. en of ~190~.71 owed the city by Beden Kennel Club. Councilman Boido asked why th~ city has, to:buy':rig~ts of way for streets for subdivision w~en in the past the land company always furnished this feature in new subdivisions to, develop their property, he stated !his was paying another man's taxes,and asked how much the land company received in the sale of the Baden Kennel Club's property. City attorney Coleberd stated-it was in the neighborhood of ~000. After discussion it was decided it was of great material value to the cit~ to acquire the propounded 114 new units of housings. Accordingly councilman ~iinu¢ciani introduced a resolution of the city council of the City of South San Francisco accepting deeds for the extension and ~ights of way for ~he development of the new tract of land. ~'he resolution was adopted bF the votes of all the members of the council~ present,as follows;- Ayes, Councilmen, V.Boido,deo~ge W.Holston,~i.Minucciani,D.W.Ratto/ hoes,Councilman, Eone. Coun~::tilman Boido requested ti~at t~e name of Ers. Emelia Perrazza be inclumed in t~e lisz of election officers to serve on t~e election board on April 11. It was explanied t~at all tl~e appointments were alroady ~ade at tie last meeting of tie council as required by law,~[r. Botdo not oeing present at that meeting. It was stated that if someone could not serve Mrs Perazza will be notified by ~h~ city clerk. Chief or-police Belloni brought up the subject of t~e hetirementSystem for city e~ployees of South San Francisco. he stated the surveN by t~e States's expert could be furnished to make a survey whereb~ all details would. 0e furnished the ~,ity for approximately ~940. Councilman ~inucciani moved tLe cit~ engage the experts to make the survey.The motion was seconded by councilman Eolston and regularly carried. City attorne~ Coleberd will furnish the address of the party to whom the City Clerk will communicate. Engineer Klassen reported that the maps ordered by the citw to bring data up to date will be paid for partially by the Land Co and the County assessor, in t he proportion of one third each. Accepted. Councilman. holston introduced a resolution of the city council of the City of South San ~ancisco approving a map entitled "~A~FAIR VILLAGE", South San ~ancisco,California. The resolution was adpted by the votes of all the members of the city council present,as follows;- Ayes, Councilmen,V.Boido,George W.Holston,M.~inucciani~D.W.Ratto. Noes, Cotncilmen,None. CouncilmanEinucciani introduced a resolution of the city council of the City of South San ~Tancisco adopting plans and specifications for the improvement of Mayfair ¥illage,gouth San Fran- cisco,California,prepared and submitted by R.E.Klassen,civil engineer. The resolution was adopted by th~: votes of all the members of the city council present,as follows,- Ayes,.Councilmen,V.Ooido,George W.~olston,~.~iinucciani,D.W.Ratto. Noes,~Counc~lmen,~one. Absent, Councilman,Reese Lloyd. Attest Daniel ~icSweeney. City Clerk. Recorded in Dook of R~ solutions, Vol.3,at page 40V. Parcel No.1 was named South. Spruce Avenue, Parcel liio.O, was named South R'[agnolia Avenue, Parcel No.3, was named ~:ortb Canal Street and Parcel No.4 was named South Ganal Street. Tl~e cit~ clerk asked assistance for ten to lO days during election season. Councilman Lo lston ~zoved the allowance 'be granted, Carried.
