SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO,HELD
FHIDAY, SEPTEMBER 16th,1944.
A special meeting of the city council of the Oity of South San Francisco was held in
the City Hall Friday, September 15th,1944,under "CALL AND WAIVER OF NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF ~HE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, "of which the following is a .copy;- ,
"The undersigned members of the ~ity Council of the City of South San Francisco hereby call a
special m~e$img of said ~ity Council to be held at 12;70 o'clock P.M. on the 15th~day of
September, 1944, in the Council Chambers in the City Hall,for the purpose of acting on a
request in behalf of the U.S.Navy to lay a sewer in Tanforan Avenue in said city.
We hereby waive notice of the time of said meeting and consent to the transaction thereat
of all such bUsiness as may regularly come before said meeting.

This meeting was called to order by ~ayor George W.Holston at 12;~0 o'clock P.M.
ROLL CALL.
Roll call found all members of'the council present,as follows;-
Councilmen,Victor Doido,Charles K.Elder, Ivan M.Hays,George W.Holston,M.Minucciani
The re$ding of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with.
A communication was received from P.& S.Construction Company,San Jose, California,stating
that they were subcontractors to Ford J.Twaits Company,general contractors on U.S.Navy Contract
NO? ~SO-Sanitary Sewer System,a project to lay a sewer in Tanforan Avenue in the City of South
San Francisco.
RESOLUTION N0.9~8.
~ouncilman ~oido introduced a resolution of the city council of the City of South San
Francisco granting to the United States Navy a permit to. construct and install a twenty-four ir.ch ~ewe
sewer in Tanforan Avenue under U.S.~avy contract No.9~DO,subJect to'certain conditions.
The resolution was adopted by the votes of all the councilmen present, as follows;-
Ayes coUncilmen,Victor Boido,Charles K.Elder, Ivan M.Hays,deor~ W.Holston.
Noes,Conncilmen,None.
Absent,~ Councilman, M.Minucciani. Councilman Minucciani had to be excused for business
reaa~ns ~efore roll call on the resolution.
Hecorded in Book of Hesolutions, Vol.3 at page No.429.
Copies of the resolution were ordered sent to the F.&.S Construction Company,~SantJose and the
Superintending Engineer, l~th ~aval District,89~ Mills Building,San Francisco,California.
Discussion was had on the various phases pf~he.p~oposed construction, the cost, size o£
sewer, cities ~enefited,federal~aid,etc. All will be further entered into at the next meeting
of the city cduncil,when plans and specifications will be submitted and bids called for.
There being no other business before the board councilman Elder moved to adjourn until the
next regular ~eeting, ~onday,September 18,19~4. The motion was seconded by councilman ~oido and
~nd ~egmlarly carried.
