A regularly adjourned meeting of the city council of the City of Sou'th 'San Francisco was held in the City hall, Wedmesday, Jume 0~t,1945. ' ' This meeting' was called to order at V;30 o"clock,p.m, by Eayor Ueor[,e W.Eolston. ~OLL CALL.' Roll call found the following named councilmen present,- . ' Councilmen, ¥ictor Boido, GeOrge W.Hclston, Charles K.Elder,'and ~.~[inucciani. " Absent, Councilman, Jvan ~'~.kays. Copies of the minutes of the previous meeting having been sent. to all members of the city co~ncil, ~ayor holston asked if there were any errors or omissions. Hearin~ none, he declared the minutes adopted a~- submitted by the cit~ cle.rk. A letter was received from Chief of Police belloni, stating that Officer ~lenr~ EcGraw of his,.department was on sick leave from December ~,~944, was paid up to February o~f~,1945, and has a c~rtificate of health from Dr.Ellsworth F.Quinlan, .stating he may resume light duties on kay 1,194:5. Laid over for consideration. , A communication was received from Frank J. Bertuccelli, resigning as Po~ic~ Officer of this cit~.', to take effect on June 0,~i,1945. Cbuncilman ~iinucciani moved tLat the offer be accepted. ~he motion was seconded by councilman boido and regularly, carried. A comm~nicatlon was received from tl~e hartford t~ire lnsuranc~ Company advising the city council that all disposal or acquisition of cars b~ re~:.orted to them at the end of each quarter. ~ayor holston advised the City Clerk to attend to the matter. So ordered.' Chief of l~olice oelloni appointed Mr. Alfredo ~erri, as guard' at the ~ ,~estern ~-ipe a Steel Company's plant. Councilman Elder moved the appointment' be confirmed, without remuneration from the city. ~he motion was seconded by co~;ncilman ~:inucci~ni and regularly carried. A telegram from ~ir. Coleberd's o~fice signed by a kr. Anderson, stated that the Bureau of Yards ~& Docks has revised plans fo~ the sewage plant, and that every effort is bein,~: made to process them immediately. Filed. Notice was received from the State 'Board of Equalization of the'a~'plication of ;n~elo Genovesi and i¥,ae ~abor for an ON SALE DEER & WINE AFD DISTILLED SPIRITS LICE%[SK. 'lhere were no objections by the city council. A check for ,-~5C,'.91 was received from the South San Francisco ~[ousing' Authority for the' second installment of rent for Project No. UA1. 15-1,Industrial Village. Accepted. The monthly report of the secrethry of tt:.e L~brary, endin6 ~,,ay 31,1945, Was received~ (City Attorne and accepted. ~be State asked the city to cancel taxe's on Lot ll,Blk 151,for ~945-46.Ref.to Coleberd. City attorney COleberd reminded the city council t]-at I~'ionday, July o, 'at 8' o'clock P.~., t~e city should meet as a Board of Equalization, and adjourn un%il the following days until their labors are completed, r~e stated that after the adjournment tlc' city council sh'ould meet in regular session, as a board of councilmen. Referring to the attitude of the Western Pipe 6 Steel Company's men on~ th~ possessory ~nterest matter, he had advised the city assessor that he did not have to answer' the questions on the valuation:' of the land assessed to the.. government there. }]e stated he did not want to furnish t~em with_too much information, in view of the facts in the case. .
