A regularly adjourned me~ting of the City Council of the' City of South San t~anCisco
was held in the City ~all, ~onday evening, ~ebruarN 11,1946.
T~is meeting was called to order at V o'clock P.~i. by kayor George W.holston.

Roll call found all members of the council present,as follows;-
Councilmen,G.A.Anderson, Charles K.Elder, Victor Boido,G~or~e W.Holston.E.~inUcciani.
The minutes of the previous meeting not being ready, the reading was passed over until

Naughty Pine building from the East side of the highwax to the west side,on Lot ll,in Block
$5~ l~ap of South San Francisco. He stated he would face the building ®a-~®- in two apartments
.a-~®- facing Cypress Avenue. Councilman ~inucciani noved the permit be granted. The motion was
seconded by councilman Boido and regularly carried.
Chief of police Belloni submitte~ the n~mes of John Eosolo, Silas ~aple and Dominica
Fontana, as guards at the Armour & Company's plant. Councilman Elder moved the guards be
appointed, without remuneration from the city. The motion was s&conded by councilman Einucciani
and regularly carried.
A cpmplaint was received from Er.Howard W.Smithison,Post Office Box No.~94,So.San ~Tancisco,
stating his car at the Benbow Eanufacturing Company has been subjected to a coat of white lime,
covering the whole car, and it is~very difficult to have his car cleaned. ~e stated he wrote the
~anagement of the Chubback Lime Company, complaining of the nuisance done,and they tried for
~ time to eliminate the damage done, but a~w- the compan~ has recently turned the matter over
to their insurance company. He has asked that this cit~ restrain the Chubback Lime Company
from operating until they can assu~e car owners of safety from the dust. ~he city clerk was
instructed to write the lime companR of the complaiht, and ask if the matter can be adjusted.
A communication was received from E.~irenze,stating he had bought the ~ifty-Seven Club,
ang asked for permission to move the same from its present site-on~the East side of the highway
to Lot 5, ~lock "C",on the ~est side of the highway. Le also asked the city's permission to
move a three room building from San kateo City,®a-~® to the rear of Lot ~, in Olock "C", as
a store room building, fhe city was in doubt as to whether liquor licenses were restricted in
this area, ~ayor Eolsto~ advised the )oung proprietor to hav~ his deed looked into to ascertain
if licenses were restricted in the ar~a,and fire chief 'A~elte w~ll also make an investigation
of the matter. Councilman ~inucciani asked that the city engineer be requested to look into
the liquor phase of the subject for the city's interests.
Hartfbrd ~.-~a- Accident ~ Indemnity Company, submitted a list of policy hol~ers, ~
S.K.Robbins,A.J.Welte,Iouis BellOniElizabeth Ottenfield, and Angelo konetini, instead of by
occupation, as ~pe~sons to be b6nded by the company. The list does not include elective officer~
Cit~ attorhey Coleberd will look over th~ new arrangement.
The City Planning Commission, through its Chairman, Ahdreww Rocca,wrote two communications
to the ~ayor and ~embers of the council, asking for the approval of Elm Court Subdivisionto the
City of South San Francisco. ~here are about O? lots, adjoining th~ Recreatio~ Buildings.
Councilman Charles K.Elder moved the subdivision be accepted , subject to the action of the
City Works Engineer. i~he motion was seconded bN~ council~n ~inucciani and regu~JarlR carried.

Councilman Elde~ introduced a resolution of the Cit~ Council of The Cit~ of South San
Francisco referring to the City Planning Commission certain areas of land for the purposes of
~e~oning.
The resolution was adopted b~ the votes of all the members of the city council,as follows;
Ayes,Council~en,G.A.Anderson, Charles K.Elder, Victor Boido, ~eorge W.~olston ,

Edward P.Kauffmann submitted his monthly report for the month of Januar~,1946. The report
was accepted as read'.
~ayor George W.~.olsto:~ nom~hated ~r. Charles J.Ledwith a~ a'member of the Personnal Board
for the Cit~ of South San Francisco. Councilm~n Elder move~ the appointment be confirmed. ~he
motion was seconded b~ councilman ~oido and regularly carried.
Chief of Police ~elloni stated the ~ount~ of San Mateo would establish a o4 hour service
the City of South San ~¥ancisco, to handle traffic accidents in this city. Councilman ~inuccian~
moved that Fire Department No.1, be used for the count~ apparatus in ~analing accidents in this
city. The motion was~ seconded by councilman ~oido and regularly carried.
Councilman Boido moved the salary of Cit~~ Jud~fe Robbins be increased to ~40 per. month,.~
commencing ~"ebruary 1,1946. i'he motion was seconded b~ councilman /~q~and regularlF csrrie~
Ifayor ~iolston instructed the City Clerk to write our Senator'in Sacramento, thanking him,
for the loyal support given the ~90,000,000 city-county'bill before the Legislature , and urge
~him to comtinue his good work.
There being no further business before the board councilman Einucciani moved to adjourn
~ntil ~ionday, February 18,1~46, at 8 o'clock P.~. The ~otion was seconded by councilman Boido
aad regularly carried.
