K. ~lder, Leo Ferko, Adolph Sani Present, Absent, ~o~~;~ Mayor Ferko called the meeting to order at.~,30 p.m. The City Clerk having forwarded copy of the minutes of the previous meeting to all ~e~bers ofthe City C~uncil, Mayor Ferko asked if any errors or omissions were noted. There being none, the minutes were approved as submitted. CouncilaanHolsto~moved, secondedbyCounc]~an Sani, that ordinance providing for licensing of business be read by title only and considered as second reading. Motion was regularly carried. City Clerk then read title of Ordinance No. 251- "An ordiaance providing for licensing of business, professions, trades, callings and occupations in the City of South San Francis~". The ordinance was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members present. Works Engineer Es~es submitted copy of plans and specifications for Mayfair No. 3. On motion of Councilman Holston, seconded by 0ouncilman Sani, and regularly carried, plans and specifications, as submitted, wereadopted. Comwayand Culligan agaim requested the rezoning of Lots 72 and 73 in South City Village. Aa this matter had been held up pending planning survey, Councilman Sani moved, seconded by Councilman Elder, that the City Clerk advise Conway and Culligan that the City favored rezohing~thia property providing Conway and Culligan weuld pay the expenses of advertising. Motion was regularly carried. Piombo Bros. and Co. addressed a communication to the City Council requesting that a permit be issued for the purpose of transportation of earth by vehicle in the City of South San Francisco. Motion was d~lymade, seconded, and regularly carried that permission be granted on deposi% of $500.00 bond. L. C. Smith addressed a communication to the City Counci~ attaching bond of $500.00 on the Massachusetts Bonding and Insurance Company, requesting permission for the transpo~ation of earth in South San Francisco. Motion was duly made, seconded and regularly carried that permission be granted. Communication was received from the Department of Finance, Sacramento, %dvising that the request for acquisition aid fn~co~nection with the fire house site had been reviewed. Further info~mation was requested and the City Clerk was instmacted to supply same. John Cox submitted application for the business of excavating and grading in South San Francisco. Motion was duly made, seconded and carried that permit be granted Providing Mr. Cox complies with all phases of the ordinance. Ercoli's Market submitted application for a business license for meats and groceries at 713 Linden Ave. Motion was duly made, seconded and regularly carried that permit be granted. Lorenzo R. Torres and George Porta submitted application for business license for automobile repair shop at 821 Cypress Avenue. Motion was duly made, seconded and regularly carried that permit be granted.
