TING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN MtANCISCO HELD SATURDAY MARCH 8, 19&7 Council Chambers, City Hall 11:00 o'clock a.m. Present: Councilmen Chas. K. Elder, Leo Ferko, Adolph Sani, Emilio Cortesi ABsent: Councilman G. W. Holston ' Mayor .Ferko called the meeting to order at 11:00 a,m. The City Clerk having forwarded copy of the minutes of the previous meeting to all members of the City Council, Mayor Ferko aake~ if any errors or omissions · were noted. There being none, the minutes were approved as submitted. Councilman Sani introduced,a resolution approving diagram of property in Brent- wood Subdivision No. 1 described in Resolution of Intention No. 1023. The resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members present. -Mayor Ferko asked if there were any protests a~ainst the assessment on property described in Resolution of Intention No. 1023. The 'FesolUti6na~s adopted by the un_animous vote of all members present. Councilman Elder introduced a resolution ordering work to be done as described in ResOlution of Intention No. 1189. The resolution was adopted by the unanimous voteof all members present. Councilman Elder moved, seconded by Councilman Sani that Superintendent of Streets Henry Schweining keep records of improvement assessment work, showing receipts and disbursements. The motion was regularly carried. With reference to information requested by the State Department of Finance on site for Central Fire Station, Mayor Ferko stated he would arrange with Mr. Shaw of the South San Francisco Land and Lmprovement ¢0. for meeting with committee from the Council. Guy F. Atkinson Company submitted application for permit for blasting on property of W. P. Fuller and Company. On motion duly made, seconded and regularly carried, permit was granted. Manufacturers Association of South San Francisco advised that there would be a meeting Thursday March 13th at 12:O0 noon at the California Golf Club. Councilman Sant moved, ~econded by Councilman Cortesi, that the City Clerk notify Mr. Edwards that no one could be appointed to the Police Bepartment who is over 35 Years of age, as specified in Section l, Resolution No. 1062 Civil 'Service Ordinance No. 216. The motion was regularly carried. Councilman Sani moved, seconded by Coun6ilman Elder that the Personnel Board be advised that the Civil Service lists were clear for police and fire personnel, and examinations should be called for additional help. Motion was regularly carried. Various recommendations pertaining to weight, height and age were made by the Chief of Police, and the City Attorney was instructed to prepare. necessary resolution amending section of the Civil Service code. Councilman Cortesi moved, seconded by Councilman Elder, that the Personnel Board be advised that examinations would be in order for Street Department general maintenance help. Motion was regularly carried.
