REGULAR~TING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN .FRANCISCO HELD MONDAY, DECEMBER 1, 19&?.

The meeting was called to order by ~ay~r Ferj~o at 8:00 p.m.
The City Clerk hav. i~g forwarded copy of the minutes of the previous meeting to all
members of the City Council, Mayor Ferko asked if any omissions or errors were noted.
There being none the minutes were approved as submitted.
Communication was received from Ken Royce Comoany making application to have dead-end
street near their proDerty closed. Same was laid over pending further information.
Communic~tionwas received from the Housing Authority of this City calling attention
to the flooded condition of the sidewalk area on the west side of Linden Avenue and
asked that same be corrected. ~otion was duly made, seconded and carried that this
matter be referred to the Superintendent of Streets for correction.
Communication was received from the Recreation Commission recommending that the Civil
Service Ordinance be amended so as to establish position of full time Superintendent
of Recreation. Motion wasdulymade, se6onded and carried that the recommendation of
the Recreation Commission be accepted a~d the ~ivil Service Ordinance be amended
accordingly.
Communication was received from the Pacific Gas & Electric Co. advising that new lights
had been installe~ in the childrenAs playground, Southwood Snbdivision. S~me was filed.
C~mmunication was received from A. J. Eschelbach requesting permission to construct
a building on Linden Avenue near Baden. Motion was duly made, seconded and carried
that permit be granted Subject to the approvsl of tko Building Inspecior. ·
Communication was received from the League of Californis Cities advising of meeting
to be held Thursday, December ll at. L'Omelette French Restaurant. This communication
was held over awaiting advice from those wishing to attend.
Communication was received from Superintendent of Streets quoting paragraphs pertain-
ing to Street lighting system in Burl Buri #1 as set forth in the specifications. This
ma~ter was laid over.
Letter dated September 24th from the County of San Mateo requesting check for $700
covering work on Mission Road ~as again brought up. Motion was duly made, seconded
and carried that check for $700 bedrawn in faver~of the County of San MateO to cover
this work.
Reports for the month o~ November were submitted by the Fire Chief, Building Inspector,
Humane Officer, and Deparbment of Public Health and Welfare. On motion duly made,
seconded and regularly carried same were approved as submitted.
Claims in the amount of $A,619.39 were presented to the Finance Comndtteefor~pproval
On motion duly. made, seconde~ and regularly carried the claims as submitted were
ordered paid~
A resident of the Buri Buri Subdivision addressed the Council and suggested that the
electric lighting system be properly installed in this area and the responsibility
be decided at a later date. The Superintendent of Streets and "~orks Engineer were
instructed to check into this matter.
On motion of Cmmcilman Elder, seconded by CQuncilm~n Sani and regularly carried', the
meeting was adjourned to Monday, Qecember-8th at 7:30 p.m.
