HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1949-05-23°9: PLACE: TIME: ROLL CALL: CALL TO ORDER: MINUTES: ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL ~ THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO HELD MONDAY MAY 23, 19~9 Council Chambers, City Hall. 7:30 p.m. Present: Councilmen Victor Boido, Chas. K. Elde'r,' Leo Ferko, Adolph Sani, Emilio cortesi. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Ferko at 7:30 p.m. Rea~i~g of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with. SE'.~ER BOND ORDINANCE: RF'SoLuTIO'N NO. 1451 P. G. & E. AGR~T BREWED: FRANK C. JORDAN POST #762: An ordinance calling a special election for the purpose of submitting to the electors of the city the proposition of incurring h bonded indebtedness for the construction of a sewage disposal system was read in its entirety. An agreement providing for lighting services in the Brentwood Subdivision area was presented by the Pacific Gas & Electric Co. Councilman Sani introduced a resolution providing that the city enter into an agreement with the Pacific Gas & Electric Co.' for furnishing service to the Buri Buri Subdivision No. 2 area. This resolution wa~ adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council. Communication was received from Frank C. Jordan Post No. 762, American Legion, requesting useof the Council or Judges Chambers on the night' of June 2, 19~9. Motion was duly made, seconded and carried that Frank C. Jordan Post ~762 be permitted to use the Judges Chambers on June 2nd, 19l~9. RESOLUTION NO. 1~52 COUNTRY CI~B PARK: RESOLUTION NO. 1453 RETIRFA~T SYSTEM: Councilman Elder introduced a resolution referring to the City Plamning Commission the proposed annexation of land known as "Country Club Park". This resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of lhe City Council.' With reference to the reduction in age ~imit for retirement of city employees the State Retirement System prepa'red a resolutio~of ~ntentibn to approve an~endment and asked that the city adopt same in order to proceed with the amendment to the System. Councilman Cortesi introduced a resolution providing that the city give notice of intention to approve an amendment to the contract now existing. This resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council. ~ ORDINANCE NO. 289 - ~E. NDING ZONING ORDINANCE: DITCH NEAR PARADISE VALLEY: An ordinance amending Zoning Ordinance No. 269 was read for the second time. Same was adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Victor Boido, Chas. K. Elder, Leo Ferko, Adolph Sani, Emilio C~rtesi; Noes,' Councilmen none; Absent, Councilmen none. With reference to the filling of drainage ditCh near Paradise Valley City Manager Larwo°d stated he had not worked out all the details on this filling, therefore, the matter was laid over for further consideration.
