Council Chambers, City Hall. 8 o(clock Presemt: Councilmen Victor Boido, Chas. K. Elder, Leo Ferko, Adolph Sani, Emilio Cortesi. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Ferko at 8 o'clock p.m. Leading of the minutes of the-previous meeting was dispensed wit~. L. D. McLeod, Jessie D. Adler, Maurice H. Oliva, Donald Johnson, Virgil Ringue and J~ C. Cher~y were present to discuss the School Board's letter of October 18, 19~9~ with regard to adequate ingress and egress to the new high schoo~ site. The prospect of the opening of A and B Streets was disc~ssed; also the possibility of widening B Street a~d as to whether or not the property owners facing on B Street could be assessed for the work. Mr. Lyons, representing City Attorney Coleberd, advised that they could, but that they could protest any proposed widening. After discussion it was the opinion of the Council and School Board that B Street would be recognimed as the official street to the school property. A motion warm ado by Councilman Elder, seconded by Councilman Sani and regularly carried that B Street wou~d be recognized as the main entrance to the school property ant that the Zoning Ordinance be so amendede Dr. Oliva asked if B Street extension with a width of bO' could be graveled to provide a better roadbeC for heavy equipment used in the construction o~ the school buildings to pass over. In this connection it was learned t~a~ t~e South San ~'rancisco Land & Improvement Go. had deeded its portion, Mr. Larwood advising t~e Board that the matter of clearing title to t~e other 30' was being handled by the Title Co. Works E~gimeer Han~lett suggested that grades be established and a 5 or ~ inch crusher run base be use~. Inasmuch as the School Bear~ was desirous o~ having t~is worx done as early as possible, Councilman Elder moved t~at the school authorities be given permission to suitably gravel B Street extension for their needs o~ egress an~ ingress. This motion was seconde~ by Councilman Sani and regularly carried. The ~atterof improving~a ~O'se~vice.roac aCJacent!toE1 CaminoEeal~was ciseussed. The members of the School Board felt they could not give the city an easement to this ~O' strip. Dr. Oliv~ however suggested that the school stay off of this w~ether an easement was given or not. Mr. Cherry said he knew the Board would cooperate towards the dedication of a right o[ way over t~e westerly20' of this property provided the access road is carried through. Mayor Ferko asked if the School Board would go on record favoring the dedication of this ~O' strip and Mr. Cherry said this matter was discussed in the Board's Totter ~f October 18th. Mr. McLe~d brought up the matter of the new subdivision to be ~pened on Old Mission ~oad and felt that pL~nsabould be mace to include a school site. Mayor Ferko said the Council was in accord that t~e subdividers should provide property for schools. action was taken. No Mr. McEeod asked that formal meetings be held in future in the transaction of business between the City Council and School ~oard. The Council agreed with this suggestion.
