Tmis is to notify you pursuant to the Government Code that a special
meesing is called for Wednesday, August 31, 1960, at 5:30 p.m. in the
Council Chambers, City Hall, South San Francisco, California.
T.~is meeting is called for the purpose of:
Granting a blasting permit in accordance with Ordinance
No. 202 as amended by Ordinance No. 373, said blasting
operation to be undertaken in the vicinity of Sperry and
Eccles Avenues, Industrial Park Unit No. 3, for the
purpose of removing the remaining rock down to elevation 40,
which is approximately the elevation of the adjacent inter-
section.

& MINING COMPANY:

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Rocca at 5:30 p.m.
Present: Councilmen Andrew Rocca, G. J. Rozzi and Patrick E. Ahern.
Absent: Councilmen Emilio Cortesi and Leo J. Ryan.
Mzyor Rocca stated that the meeting had been called to consider granting
a blasting permit to Utah Constructio~ and Mining Company in South San
Francisco Industrial Park Unit No. 3. City Attorney Noonan stated that
the permit had been prepared for issuance if Council so desired. Council-
,zn Rozzi then moved, seconded by Councilman Ahern and regularly carried,
that the request of Utah Construction and Mining Company for a blasting
permit be approved under the terms of the City's Ordinance that the Police
Department be made aware of the blasting to take place and the surrounding
~ndu~ries notified, and that the City Clerk be instructed to issue the
requested permit. City Attorney Noonan then explained the resolution whic
Lzd been prepared authorizing the execution of this permit, after which
Councilman Ahern introduced: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CiTY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF A BLASTING PERMIT
TO UTAH CONSTRUCTION AND MINING COMPANY". Roll call vote was as follows:

Councilmen Emilio Cortesi and Leo J. Ryan.
Councilman Rozzi then moved, seconded by Councilman Ahern and regularly
carried, that the meeting be adjourned at 5:32 p.m.
