HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1961-07-24ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO HELD MONDAY, JULY 24, 1961 TIME: PLACE: 7:20 p.m. Council Chambers, City Hall CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Mayor Rozzi at 7:27 p.m. ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmen G. J. Rozzi, Patrick E. Ahern, Andrew Rocca, and Leo J. Ryan. Absent: Councilman Emilio Cortesi. SSF IND. PARK UNIT 2-C, ZONE 3 -- BID DALE WILLIAMS, INC.: City Attorney Noonan explained that Dale Williams, Inc., the low bidder, made an error in the unit price on item No. ll -- the unit price being less than what it should have been. He further remarked that in checking with the Bond Counsel it was determined that the unit price was the controlling price and it could not be changed. He also stated that Dale Williams, Inc. wished to let their bid stand at the prices shown and not be withdrawn. CORTESI APPEARANCE: Councilman Cortesi appeared present at 7:30 p.m. and remained for the duration of the meeting. RESOLUTION NO. 3245 AWARD CONTRACT -- SSF IND. PARK UNIT 2-C, ZONE 3: RESOLUTION NO. 5246 AWARD CONTRACT -- HARBOR WAY ASSESSMENT DIST.: City Clerk Director of Public Works Goss then reported that schedule I total would be $67,654.15 and schedule II total would be $4,812.40. City Attorney Noonan explained the resolution prepared, after which Councilman Ahern introduced: "A RESOLUTION OF AWARD OF C0~RACT -- INDUSTRIAL PARK UNIT NO. 2-C, ZONE 3". Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen G. J. Rozzi, Patrick E. Ahern, Andrew Rocca, and Leo J. Ryan. Noes, none. Councilman Emilio Cortesi abstained from voting, stating he could not vote on something about which he knew nothing and remarked that he had not heard full details regarding the matter. Absent, none. City Attorney Noonan then explained the next resolution concerning Harbor Way but which was the second portion of the work, after which Councilman Ryan introduced: "A RESOLUTION OF AWARD OF CONTRACT -- HARBOR WAY ASSESSMENT DISTRICT". Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen G. J. Rozzi, Patrick E. Ahern, Andrew Rocca, and Leo J. Ryan. Noes, none. Councilman Emilio Cortesi abstained from voting. Absent, none. There being nothing further, Councilman Rocca moved, seconded by Councilman Ahern and regularly carried, that the meeting be adjourned to August 7, 1961 at 8:00 p.m. Time of adjournment - 7:40 p.m.
