This is to notify you pursuant to the Government Code that a
special meeting is called for Mondsy, October 23, 1961, at
5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, South San Fran-
cisco, California. This meeting is called for the purpose of:

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Rozzi at 5:30 p.m.
P~esent: Councilmen G. J. Rozzi, Patrick E. Ahem,
. Emilio Cortesi, and Andrew Rocca.
A~seut: Councilman Leo J. Ryan.

Mayor Rozzi remarked that the purpose of the special meeting
which had been called was to consider bids that had been re-
ceived for the improvement of the public walk-way in the
downtown parking district.
Mr. Robert Graves, present, stated that a detailed report
was being completed by Mr. Maxey, Superintendent of Parks and
Recreation, and that he was to be present within the next few
minutes with the report. Shortly after the remarks of Mr.
Graves, Mr. Maxey appeared present ax the meeting and sum-
w.arized the bids which had been received, recommending that
the firm of A & J Shooter, Inc., landscape contractors of
1205 North Carolau Avenue in Burliugame, be awarded the work
on the basis of their bid, with the exception that the vaults
were not to be part of the work.
City Attorney Noonan then explained ~he resolution which had
been prepared, after which Councilman Rocca introduced a
resolution, entitled "A RESOLUTION ~ AWARD OF C('~TRACT -
PUBLIC WAY NO. l, PARKING DISTRICT 1955-1". A discussion
followed at which time mention was made that the parking
authority had authorized the expenditure of funds as high as
$11,000.O0 for this work.
Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen G. J. Rozzi,
Patrick E. Ahem, Emilio Cortesi, and Andrew Rocca. Noes,
none. Absent, Councilman Leo J. Ryan.
There being no objections, Mayor Rozzi then adjourned the
Teetiug at 5:42 p.m.
