CON~ACT BETHLEHEM STEEL/ TIDELAND LOTS SSF MARINA SPRUCE AVENUE SOILS TEST AD JOURNMENT: 5:30 p.m. COuncil Chambers, City Hall The meeting was called to order by Mayor Rozzi at 5:30 p.m. Present: Absent: Councilmen G. J. Rozzi, Patrick E. Ahem, Emilio Cortesi, Andrew Rocca and Leo J. Ryan. None. City Manager Eugene Aiello explained to Council the meeting w~ich he attended with representatives of the Small Craft Harbor Division iu Sacramento ou Thursday, November 16, 1961, and as a result of the meeting a request was made by the Division that the City place ou deposit additional monies. He further remarked that all the documents required iu ear- marking these additional funds would have to be iu the possession of the Small Craft Harbo~ Division in San Fran- cisco prior to 9:30 a.m. ou Monday, November 20, 1961, before they would approve the City's application. City Attorney Noonan then explained the resolution which had b~eu prepared designating additional funds to be deposited by the City, after which Councilman Rocca introduced a reso- lution entitled, "A P~ESOLUTION OF ~ CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ORDERING THE ADDITIONAL SUM OF $38,048.00 EARMARKED IN A SPECIAL FUND AVAILABLE TO SUPPLY FUNDS TO SUPPT~MENT PROPOSED LOAN FOR THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO MARINA". Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen G. J. Rozzi, Patrick E. Aheru, Emilio Cortesi, AndPew Rocca and Leo J. Ryau. Noes, none. Absent, none. Clity Manager Aiello then explained ~he negotiations which had been held with the Bethlehem Steel Company interests for the obtaining of certain property to be used iu the development of the Marina and the method by which the City was to make p ayme u t. City Attorney Noouau then explained the resolution which had been prepared after which Councilman Ryan introduced a reso- lution entitled, "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH BETHLEHEM STEEL, A CORPORATION, REGARDING CER- TAIN TIDELAND LOTS". Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen G. J. Rozzi, Patrick E. Aheru, Emilio Cortesi, A~drew Rocca and Leo J. Ryau. Noes, none. Absent, none. City Manager Aiello then brought up the matter of Spruce Ave- nue, requesting approval of the City Council for the hiring of the firm of Cooper and Clark, Soils Engineers, for the conducting of soils tests with the amount not to exceed $2,0o0.o0. Councilman A~ern so moved, seconded by Councilman Rocca. Councilman Cortesi asked City Attoznaey Noonan if it was in order for him to vote since he owned property on Spruce Ave- nue. City Attorney Noonan stated it would be all ri~ht since this was to be an assessment district. Motion as made and seconded was regularly carried. Councilman Rocca then moved, seconded by Councilman Ryan, ;he meeting be adjourned to Monday, November 20, 1961, at 8:00 p.m. The time of adjournment was 5:40 p.m. RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED City Clerk APPROVED:
