HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1962-06-11AD~ REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SO~3TH SAN FRANCISCO HELD MONDAY, JUNE 11, 1962 PLACE: CALL TO ORDER: ROLL CALL: MEMORIAL PARK COMFORT STATION - BIDS: RESOLUTION NO. 349o FEDERAL INCOME TAXATION - INTEREST FROM PUBLIC BONDS: 7:30 p.m. Council Chambers, City Hall The meeting was called to order by Mayor Ryan at 7:45 p.m. Present: Absent: Councilmen Leo J. Ryan, Patrick E. Ahem, Emilio Cortesi, and Andrew Rocca. Councilman G. J. Rozzi. City Manager Aiello remarked that the purpose for adjournment until tonight was to take action on the bids received for the Memorial Park Comfort Station. He then stated that only one bid had been received, which was from Louis Barberini in the amount of $5,368.00. Superintendent of Parks & Recreation Robert F~xey, present, recommended acceptance in accordance with his memorandum dated June 11, 1962. Councilman Rocca moved, seconded by Councilman Ahern and regularly carried, that the bid of Louis Barberini in the amount of $5,368.00 be accepted and the award for construction of the Comfort Station made. At this time City Attorney Noonan brought to the attention of Council Resolution No. 42 received by the Mayor's office from the Senate Joint Committee regarding Federal Income Taxation of the Interest derived from Public Bonds. Discussion followed concerning the adoption of a resolution, after which the City Attorney explained the resolution that could be adopted by Council. Councilman Ahern then introduce~: "A RESOLUTION RRIATIVE TO FEDERAL INCOME TAXATION OFT HE INTEREST DERIVED FROM PUBLIC BONDS". Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Leo J. Ryan, Patrick E. Ahem, Emilio Cortesi, and Andrew Rocca. Noes, none. Absent, Councilman G. J. Rozzi. There being nothing further, Councilman Rocca moved, seconded by Councilman Ahem and regularly carried, that the meeting be adjourued to June 18, 1962 at 8:00 p.m. Time of adjournment - 7:49 p.m. APPROVED:
