ARVID 0LSEN: ADJOURNMENT: HE/S~CTFULLY SUBMITTED, City Clerk 5:30 p.m. Council Chambers, City Hall The meeting was called to order by Mayor Patrick E. Ahem at 5:35 p.m. Present: Absent: Councilmen Patrick E. Ahe~n, Frank Bertucelli, Emilio Cortesi, Andrew Rocca, and Guido J. Rozzi. None. City Attorney Noonan explained the resolution which authorized Police and Fire services to Westborough No. 3 by the execution of a contract with the County, after which Councilman Bertucelli introduced a resolution entitled: "CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA - A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF SAN BRUNO, A MUNI- CIPAL CORPORATION, PROVIDING FOR THE ASSIGNMENT OF AGREEMENTS TO PROVIDE POLICE PROTECTION AND FIRE PREVENTION SERVICES TO COUNTY SERVICE AREA NO. 3". Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahem, Frank Bertucelli, Emilio Cortesi, Andrew Rocca, and Guido J. Rozzi. Noes, none. Absent, none. City Attorney Noonan then explained the ordinance concerning the annexation of the Valley Park area which was now ready for second reading and adoption inasmuch as sufficient consents had been re- ceived from the property owners in the area. He stated that a motion could be adopted by Council if they so desired that read- ing of the ordinance in its entirety be waived and that it be passed and adopted by reading of the title only. Councilman Rocca so moved, seconded by Councilman Rozzi and regularly carried. City Attorney Noonan then remarked that a motion could be adopted by Council that the ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED tVALLEY PARK CENTER ANNEXATIONt TO THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO" be read for the second time by title and be passed and adopted, the reading in its entirety having been duly waived. Councilman Ber- tucelli so moved, seconded by Councilman Rocca. Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahem, Frank Bertucelli, Emilio Cortesi, Andrew Rocca, and Guido J. Rozzi. Noes, none. Absent, none. Council next took up the matter of an Inter-Office Memorandum dated July 9, 1964, as received from the Director of Public Works concerning the Engineering Report ou Chestnut Avenue Expressway, together with a communication dated June 29, 1964, from George S. Nolte Consulting Civil Engineers, Inc. This was accompanied by a three page report ou Chestnut Avenue location study and final design. It was the recommendation of the Director of Public Works that the proposal of Mr. Nolte be accepted. The cost of the study was not to exceed $15,500.00 with the cost to be shared equally by the County of San Mateo and the City of South San Francisco. Brief discussion followed, at which time Mr. Goss read the propo- sal of Mr. Nolte. Councilman Rocca then introduced a resolution entitled: "CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA - A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL OF GEORGE S. NOLTE CONSULTING CIVIL ENGINEERS, INC. -- CHESTNUT AVENUE LOCA- TION STUDY, PHASE I". Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahem, Frank Bertucelli, Emilio Cortesi, Andrew Rocca, and Guido J. Rozzi. Noes, none. Absent, none. Mayor Ahem at this time offered for Council approval the appoint- ment of Mrs. Arvid 01sen, 28 E1Campo Drive, to the Art Commission. Councilman Rocca moved, seconded by Councilman Bertucelli and regu- larly carried, that the appointment as made by the Mayor be con- firmed. Councilman Cortesi at this time brought to Council attention the need for appointments to the Planning Commission. There being nothing further, Councilman Rocca moved, seconded by Councilman Rozzi and regularly carried, that the meeting be ad- Journed to Monday, July 20, 1964, at 8:00 p.m. Time of adjourn- ment: 5:50 p.m.
