The meeting was called to order by Mayor Bertucelli at 8~00 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited, ~fter which the invocation was given by Reverend Father Paul P. Coleman of St. Verontca's Catholic Church.. Present~ Absents Councilmen Frank J. Bertucelli, Patrick E. Ahern, Emilio Cortesi, Andrew Rocca and Guido J. Rozzi None Mayor Bertucelli asked if there was a motion a)proving the minutes of the regular meeting of July 18, 1966. Co[ncilman Rocca moved, seconded by CounciLman Aborn and regularly carried, that the minutes of the regular meeting of July 18, 1966 be approved as submitted. Mayor Bertucelli then asked if there was a motflon approving the regular claims as submitted for payment. Councilman Ahern moved, seconded by Councilman Rocca and regularly carried, that the regular claims totaling $15,203.85 be approved for payment. Mayor Bertucelli asked if there was a motion approving the claims for Parking District No. I as submitted for payment. Councilman Rozzi moved, seconded by Councilman Rocca and regularly carried, that the claims as submitted for Parking District No. I totaling $70.07 be approved for payment. Coqaur Street and Dianne Court Assessment Dista~ct Claims Crosby and Associates claim dated July 18, 1966 in the amount of $198.60 for Progress Billing for Field Testing anc Inspection - Alta Vista No. 3. Councilman Rocca moved, seconded by Councilman Rozzi and regularly carried, that the claim as submitted for Con~ur Street and Dtanne Court Assessment District be approved for payment. South San FranciSco Public Library and E.O.C, Center Clatm~' A. M. Hardy and Company claim dated July 11, 1966 in the amount of $9,831.55 for work done on the Environmental Design on Public Library and E.O.C. Center. Councilman Rozzi moved, seconded by Councilman Rocca and regularly carried, that the claim as submitted for South San Francisco Public Library and.E.O.C. Center be approved for payment. Stone, ate Ridqe Assessment District No. 1 Claims City of South San Francisco claim dated gcly 21, 1966 in the amount of $416.36 for Inspection Services for the month of June, 1966. Councilman Ahern moved, seconded by Councilman Rocca and regularly carried, that the claim as submitted for Stonegate Ridge Assessment District No. 1 be approved for paynent. The next. tte~ for Council"s attention was the Public Hearing on Proposed Amendment to Section 4.42 of Ordinance No. 353 as amendec, Zoning Ordinance of the City of Sou=h San Francisco. Mayor Bertucelli declared the Public Hearing opened asking~if any writt~m~-Protests had been received tow h ich the City Clerk replied ~one had been received by his office. He thm~ asked if anyone present in the audienceWt~hed to offer and oral protest. There being none, Mayor Bertucelli declared the Public Hearing closed. The next item was the Public Hearing on Proposed Amendment to Section 6 and Subsections thereof, Ordinance No. 353 as amended, Zoning Ordinance of the City of South San Francisco. ~ayor Bertucelli declared the Public Hearing opened asking if any written protests had been received to which the City Clerk replied none had been received by his office. He then asked if anyone present wished to register an oral protest. There being none, Mayor Bertucelli declared the Public Hearing closed. NO. 52 REGARDING CALIFORNIA'S BICENTENNIAL 1969-- City Attorney explained the next resolution after which Councilman Rozzi introduced: "i RESOLUTION IN MEMORY OF NARGARET KIESSLING, DECEASED, AND EXPRESSING SYMPATHY TO HER FANILY." City Attorney Noonan then explained the ordinance and advised the Council regarding procedure for introduction. The next item for Council's attention was the communication dated July 20, 1966 from the County of San Mateo Board of Supervisors concerning the County's share of thecost of necessary silt removal in the lower reaches of Colma Creek. Accompanying were co~aunlcation dated July 15, 1966 from the County Engineer and Road C~tssioner and Inter-Office Nemorandum dated July 22, 1966 fro~ the City ~anager submitting his reco~aendation. Councilman Rozzi moved, seconded by Councilman Rocca and regularly carried, that the recommendation of the City Manager be approved and accepted. The next item was the communication dated July 13, 1966 from Utah Construction &i'~Miaing Con,any concerning the completion of the construction of Colma Creek through the South San Francisco Industrial Park and requesting t~e City of South San Francisco to release Utah from any further maintenance obligations on Colma Creek. Accompanying was Inter-Office Memorandtea dated July 22, 1966 from the Director of Public ~orcs submitting his recon~endation. Couacilman Rocca moved, seconded by Councilman Rozzt and regularly carried, that the rec~endatton of the Director of Public ~orks be approved and accepted. The next item for Council's attention was Assembly Concurrent Resolution No. 52 reqJesting considerat~on to con~emorate in so~e significant manner the celebration in 1969 of California's Bicentennial. There being no objections and at the request of the City Attorney, Mayor Bertucelli referred the matter to his office. There being no objections and at the request of the City Attorney, Mayor Bertucelli referred the matter to his office. APPOINT~T OF JOHN COLLINS The next item was the Inter-Office Memorandum d~ted July 25, 1966 recommending the AS SUPT. OF SEWAGE TREATMENT probationary appointment of John Collins as Superintendent of the Sewage Treatment PLANTs Plant effective July 16, 1966.  Councilman Rocca moved, seconded by Councilman ~ozzi and regularly carried that 0 0 0 John Collins be appointed on a probationary period as Superintendent of the Sewage Treatment Plant effective July 16, 1966. CLAIM AS FILED BY CALIFORNIA CASUALTY INDEMNITY EXCHANGE IN BEHALF OF ATTILIO TEVINI.' The next item was the claim as filed by Caltfor~ia Casualty Indemnity Exchange in the amount of $680.00 plus amounts yet to be determined relative to accident in- volving auto driven by Attilto Tevini and City-owned vehicle on May 10, 1966. Courcilman Rozzt moved, seconded by Councilman .;ortest and regularly carried, that the work be accepted and the filing of Notice of Completion be authorized. The next item was the co~unication dated July 13, 1966 from Wilsey, Ham and Blair CARLTON,COURTLAND:FORBES concerning Change Order No. 7 - Carlton Court a~d Forbes Boulevard Assessment District. Y REPORTS GOOD AND WELFARE~ REAPPOINTNENT OF FRANK NANNINI AND JOSEPH ZLATUNIGH TO PLANNING GONNISSION ~ A D.,TOUR.NI~NT ~ Morthly Report was received from the following~ San Mateo Gounty Department of Public Health and Welfare Sanitation Section - Housing Survey - Aprik, May and June, 1966. There being no objections, Mayor Sertucelli ordered the report accepted and placed on file. There being nothing further, Mayor Bertucelli offered for Council's confirmation the reappotntments of Frank Mammtni and Joseph Zlatunich as members of the Planning Co~uission to succeed themselves. Councilman Aheri~moved, seconded by Councilman Rozzi and regularly carried, that the Mayor's appointment be confirmed. There being nothing further under Good and Welfare from any member of the Council, Mayor Bertucelli asked if anyone present wished to offer anything under Good and Welfare. There being none, Councilman Rozzi moved, secorded by Councilmen Rocca and regularly carried that the meeting be adjourned to Augus~ 15, 1966.
