Dated~ December 26, 1968 /s/ Frank J. Bertucelli ~ayor SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO HELD FRIDAY, DEC'BEE 27, 1968 TIME~ PLACE= CALL TO ORDER~ ROLL CALLs DISCUSSION CONCERNING ACCEPTANCE OF DEF. D TO PARCEL~ 5~30 p.m. Council Chambers, City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Bertucelli at 5s40 p.m. Present~ Absents Councilmen Frank J. Bertucelli, Patrick E. Ahem, F. Frank Mammini and Andrew Rocca. Councilman Warren Steinkamp. City Attorney Noonan briefly explained that Mr. Thomas Bocci, a property owner on Spruce Avenue, wished to dedicate to the City a 30-foot strip of property and, in order to do so, would need the City's acceptance. This strip of property affected the extension of Myrtle Avenue and Mr. Bocci wished to conclude this dedication before the end of December in order that it may be recorded. He briefly commented that if the dedication and acceptance were made, there would be certain costs for street improvements which would be required of Mr. Bocci and the property owner on the opposite side from him. Lengthy discussion then followed at which time Councilman Mammini asked if anyone had notified the opposite property owner, Mr. Norman Hynding, since the City might be pre- determining that Mr. Hynding was willing to do the same thing. It was his feeling that since Mr. Hynding was affected, he should be present and speak for himself. Further discussion followed at which time Councilman Rocca commented that it appeared to him that the matter was being rushed very rapidly and that it was his feeling the matter should be taken under advisement and discussed. Further discussion followed concerning the matter of notifying adjacent property owners after which City Planner Pass coemented that it was his understanding that Mr. Hynding was willing to give land but not willing to put money into the improvement of a street. City Attorney Noonan commented that the matt&m~f had come to his attention only yesterday. Mr. Leo Cortesi, also a property owner in the area, suggested to Council that the matter be concluded before Mr. Bocci changed his mind. Mr. Pass was then requested by the Mayor to see if Mr. Hynding could be contacted at his home. He reported that he was not available. Further lengthy discussion followed conderning the fact that any property owner affected should have been notified to at least be present to express his opinion or wishes in this matter and that while sufficient time was available previeesly, Mr. Bocci was taking this course of action in order to not be required to pay additional tax after the first of the year. Further discussion followed concerning the matter of street improvements. Councilman Rocca at this time suggested that the matter be continued to a meeting on Monday after- noon at 5s00 o'clock p.m. at which time everyone concerned could be present. Councilman Mammini concurred, stating that this matter was being requested to be acted upon too quickly and in all fairness, everyone concerned should be present. Further lengthy discussion followed relative to the dedication of land, the need to have all the interested property owners present and the proposed improvement of the street. ADJOURNMENT ~ Councilman Rocca moved that this meeting be adjourne~ to Monday, December 30, 1968 at 1~00 o'clock p.m. Further discussion followed after which Councilman Ahem seconded the motion which was regularly carried. Time of adjournments 6~25 p.m. APPROVF..D ~ RESPECTFULLY SUI3~I TTED, *The discussions contained herein are excerpts and not verbatim.
