CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
AWARD THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT TO
INTERSTATE GRADING AND PAVING, INC., OF SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA FOR THE LOS CERRITOS
SCHOOL WEST ORANGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $348,790.00.
WHEREAS, on April 25, 2015, City of South San Francisco ("City") staff issued a
Request for Proposals ("RFP") for the Los Cerritos School West Orange Improvement Project
("Project"); and
WHEREAS, on May 26, 2015, staff received proposals from two (2) firms; and
WHEREAS, after reviewing the submitted bid proposals, Interstate Paving and Grading,
Inc. ("Interstate"), was the lowest bidder; and
WHEREAS, City staff recommends that the City Council to authorize the City Manager
to award the construction contract to Interstate of South San Francisco, California in an amount
not to exceed $348,790.00; and
WHEREAS, funding for the Project is included in the City of South San Francisco's
2014-2015 Capital Improvement Program ("CIP").
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby approves the award of the construction contract for the
Los Cerritos School West Orange Improvement Project with Interstate Grading and Paving, Inc.,
of South San Francisco, California, in an amount not to exceed $348,790.00 conditioned on
Interstate's timely execution of the Project contract and submission of all require documents,
including but not limited to, certificates of insurance and endorsements, in accordance with the
Project documents.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager
to award the construction contract on behalf of the City upon timely submission by Interstate's
signed contract and all other documents, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 8th day of
July 2015 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Karyl Matsumoto, Pradeep Gupta, and Liza Normandy
Vice Mayor Mark N. Addiego and Mayor Richard A. Garbarino
