CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE A COVENANT TO RESTRICT USE OF PROPERTY
AT 736 TENNIS DRIVE (ASSESSOR'S PARCEL NUMBERS:
014-041-170 AND 014-041-180)
WHEREAS, the existing soil at 736 Tennis Drive was contaminated with pesticide use
due to carnation growing by the previous owners; and
WHEREAS, the City capped the contaminated soil with clean soil for future development
of the site, and spent the last two (2) years testing the soil until it was deemed safe for limited
uses; and
WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo Health Department staff has concurred that the
City can build a park upon the land; and
WHEREAS, the City is required to execute a deed restriction to insure that no homes can
be built on the site; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute the Covenant to
Restrict Use of Property at 736 Tennis Drive (APNs: 014-041-170 & 014-041-180), subject to
approval as to form by the City Attorney.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to take any other action consistent with
the intent of this resolution.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 26th day of
August, 2015 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Karyl Matsumoto, Pradeep Gupta, and Liza Normandy
Vice Mayor Mark N. Addiego and Mayor Richard A. Garbarino
