CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT TO INTERSTATE GRADING AND PAVING OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO CALIFORNIA FOR THE OYSTER
POINT BIKE LANES PROJECT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $197,218.
WHEREAS, The adopted Bicycle Master Plan for the City of South San Francisco
("City") identifies the need for bicycle lanes on Oyster Point Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, City of South San Francisco ("City") staff issued a Notice Inviting Bids for
the Oyster Point Bike Lane Project("Project") on July 23, 2015 and on August 18, 2015 received
three(3)bids in response; and
WHEREAS, Interstate Grading and Paving of South San Francisco, California, submitted
the lowest responsive and responsible bid in the amount of$162,661.50; and
WHEREAS, Interstate Grading and Paving of South San Francisco, California, submitted
and add alternate bid of$72,376.50; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends awarding the construction contract including the base bid
and add alternate to Interstate Grading and Paving of South San Francisco, California in an
amount not to exceed$197,218.00; and
WHEREAS, total project costs including design, construction, construction contingency,
and construction management are estimated to be $255,000; and
WHEREAS, the Project is included in the City of South San Francisco's 2015-2016
Capital Improvement Program ("CIP") as project tr1502 with a budget appropriation of$255,000
drawn from a$182,100 Transportation Development Act grant and $72,900 of Measure A funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby awards a construction contract for the Project to Interstate
Grading and Paving for an amount not to exceed $197,218.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
authorizes the Finance Department to establish the Project Budget consistent with the
information contained in the staff report.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the
documents on behalf of the City upon timely submission by Interstate Grading and Paving of the
signed contract and all other documents, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 9th day of
September, 2015 by the following vote:
