Penna Robert Yee MINUTES City Council Municipal Services Building Community Room November 27, 1996 II I - I1~ SPECIAL MEETING CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO NOVEMBER 27, 1996 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to Section 54956 of the Government Code of the State of California, that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco will hold a Special Meeting on Wednesday, the 27th day of November 1996, at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Conference Room, City Hall, 400 Grand Avenue, South San Francisco, California. Purpose of the meeting: Closed Session - pursuant to GC 54957 for an evaluation and labor negotiations with and for the City Manager and labor negotiations on the Firefighters Unit. 2. Adoption of resolution approving an amendment to the City Manager's contract. WILSON ADJOURNMENT: The Council entered the Closed Session at 6:41 p.m. to discuss the items noticed. Mayor Drago recalled the meeting to order at 9:40 p.m., all Council was present, direction was given. City Attorney Mattas related: direction was given related to the firefighters and the Council provided direction to their Negotiator with regards to the employment agreement with Michael Wilson. He stated the Mayor has before him a resolution with the changes discussed in Closed Session, Mr. Wilson is agreeable to the terms and, for the record, he identified the changes to the contract: the contract would extend, if the Council decides to adopt the Motion, through 6/30/99, which is an 18 month extension; Section 3a of the contract, related to annual salary, would be amended to increase the annual salary to $119,058; Section 7a of the agree- ment, which relates to automobile allowance, would be amended to increase the auto allowance to $450.00 per month and to provide, as an alternative to an auto allowance, that the City would lease a vehicle for use by the City Manager with the cost of said lease not to exceed $450.00 a month, including gas costs; Section 5b of the agreement is amended to establish the administrative leave at 120 hours per year and to allow Mr. Wilson to redeem that 120 hours for cash value on an annual basis; the salary increase would take effect on 1/24/97, all other changes to the agreement would take effect after Council adoption of the resolution.
