CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF
$67,590 IN GRANT FUNDING FROM THE BASEBALL
TOMORROW FUND FOR RENOVATION OF THE YOUTH
BASEBALL FIELD AT BRENTWOOD PARK AND AMENDING
THE 2015/16 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BUDGET—PROJECT
#PK 1501.
WHEREAS, Capital Improvement Project#PK 1501,Brentwood Park Improvements,was
approved in the 2015/16 budget; and
WHEREAS, this project includes renovation of a retaining wall, installation of an ADA
compliant pathway, replacement of playground equipment and irrigation repairs for the baseball
field; and
WHEREAS,the Department of Parks and Recreation was awarded a grant from the Baseball
Tomorrow Fund in the amount of$67,590 to fund additional improvements to the youth baseball
field at Brentwood Park and increase the total project budget to $742,090; and
WHEREAS,staff recommends the acceptance of$67,590 in grant funding from the Baseball
Tomorrow Fund and amending the 2015/16 Capital Improvement Budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby accepts $67,590 in grant funding from the Baseball
Tomorrow Fund.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council amends the 2015/16 Capital
Improvement Budget in order to reflect an increase of$67,590.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager,or
his designed, to execute the documents necessary to accept the grant funding and take any other
actions necessary to carry out the intent of this resolution on behalf of the City Council, subject to
approval as to form by the City Attorney.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the
City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 24th day of
February, 2016 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Karel Matsumoto, Richard A. Garbarino, and Liza Normandy
Vice Mayor Pradeep Gupta and Mayor Mark N. Addiego
