CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CHANGE OF
ADMINISTRATOR FOR THE MEDICAL AFTER
RETIREMENT ACCOUNT (MARA) PLAN FROM ICMA-
RETIREMENT CORPORATION TO GENESIS EMPLOYEE
BENEFITS INC. AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY PLAN DOCUMENTS TO
EFFECT THIS CHANGE.
WHEREAS, Genesis Employee Benefits, Inc. ("Genesis") offers lower fees and greater
investment opportunities for City of South San Francisco employees; and,
WHEREAS, staff recommends approval of the change in the MARA Plan Administrator
to Genesis Employee Benefits, Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby approves Genesis Employee Benefits, Inc. as the MARA
Plan Administrator and authorizes the City Manager to execute the necessary plan documents to
effect this change, subject to revision and approval as to form by the City Attorney.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 24t'' day of
February, 2016 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Karyl Matsumoto, Richard A. Garbarino, and Liza Normandy
Vice Mayor Pradeep Gupta and Mayor Mark N. Addiego
NOES: None
