CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A PURCHASE AGREEMENT
WITH TOWNE FORD FOR THREE 2016 FORD POLICE
INTERCEPTOR UTILITY VEHICLES WITH A NOT TO
EXCEED AMOUNT OF $92,485.40 AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT OF
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO.
WHEREAS, three (3) Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptors have been identified by
staff as having exceeded their useful service life; and
WHEREAS, City of South San Francisco routinely replaces vehicles at the end of their
useful service life; and
WHEREAS, the purchases of the replacement vehicles are identified and approved as
part of the fiscal year 2015-2016 operating budget; and
WHEREAS, staff requested bids from seven Ford dealerships in northern and central
California; and
WHEREAS, of the responses received, Towne Ford was the lowest responsible bidder;
and
WHEREAS, South San Francisco Municipal Code 4.04.096(a)(2) requires City Council
approval for purchases exceeding seventy-five thousand dollars.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco hereby takes the following actions:
1. Approves a purchase agreement with Towne Ford for the purchase of three (3)
2016 Ford Police Interceptor Utility vehicles for an amount not to exceed
$92,485.40.
2. Authorizes the City Manager to execute the purchase agreement, subject to
approval as to form by the City Attorney, on behalf of the City of South San
Francisco.
3. Authorizes the City Manager to take any other related actions consistent with the
intent of this Resolution.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 9th day of
March, 2016 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Karyl Matsumoto, Richard A. Garbarino, and Liza Normandy
Vice Mayor Pradeep Gupta and Mayor Mark N. Addiego
